Qualcomm Chief Accounting Officer Leaves for Adobe

John Murphy, SVP and Chief Accounting Officer (Principal Accounting Officer) of Qualcomm resigned to pursue other opportunities. George S. Davis, the company's EVP and CFO, will serve as the company's Principal Accounting Officer, in addition to his continued service as CFO (Principal Financial Officer). Davis previously served as both the company's Principal Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer upon joining the company in March 2013 until Murphy's hiring in September 2014.

Motorola Solutions Elects Former Emotient CEO to its BoardKen Denman

Motorola Solutions announced that Ken Denman has been elected to its board of directors. Denman was previously President and CEO of Emotient. He also held CEO positions at two Silicon Valley software companies Openwave Systems and iPass, and was COO – Wireless, for MediaOne International. Denman currently serves on the board of ShoreTel and Mitek.

F5 Networks Hires New CEO From Ciena   

Application delivery networking technology company F5 Networks announced that François Locoh-Donou has been named the company's President and CEO and a member of the company’s Board. Locoh-Donou succeeds current President and CEO, John McAdam, who will remain a Director on the company’s board upon his retirement.

Locoh-Donou currently serves as SVP and COO of Ciena. He previously held successive leadership positions at Ciena, including SVP, Global Products Group; VP and General Manager, EMEA; VP, International Sales; and VP, Marketing. Locoh-Donou also serves on the advisory board of Jhpiego.

ZTE’s Former CEO Resigns as Non-Executive Director     

China based telecom equipment and systems company ZTE Corporation received a resignation from Shi Lirong as Non-executive Director. Shi has been the former CEO of the company.

Carlyle MD Resigns from CommScope Board          

Campbell R. Dyer, a director of CommScope, the infrastructure solutions provider for communications networks, notified the company of his decision to resign from the Board. Dyer is currently Managing Director in the Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications  group at Carlyle.

EchoStar Makes Board Changes

EchoStar, a global satellite services provider and developer of hybrid video delivery technologies, appointed William D. Wade to EchoStar's Board of Directors.  Wade served as the President and CEO of Asia Satellite Telecommunications (AsiaSat) based in Hong Kong and as Deputy CEO of AsiaSat, and is currently serving as a senior advisor to the CEO of AsiaSat through March 2017.

Ciena COO Departs; Announces Management Appointments       Rick Hamilton   

Ciena Corporation announced the resignation François Locoh-Donou as SVP and COO. The company appointed three new leaders: Rick Hamilton, SVP, Global Software and Services. Hamilton joined the company in October 2016 as SVP, Global Services & Automation. Prior to joining the company, he served as Corporate VP, Professional Services for Juniper Network; and VP, Cloud & Managed Services with Cisco Systems.

Scott Mcfeely will be SVP, Networking Platforms. He previously served as company’s VP, Global Portfolio Management and Business Operations. Mcfeely joined company in 2010 in connection with the company's acquisition of Nortel's Metro Ethernet Networks business, with which he spent more than 20 years in a variety of technical and management roles.

Jason Phipps has been named SVP, Global Sales and Marketing. Prior to this appointment, Phipps served as company’s VP and GM, North America sales. He joined company in 2002 and has previously held a number of sales and marketing leadership positions with the company.

ADTRAN Appoints Global Sales SVP

ADTRAN, a leading global provider of networking and communications equipment, announced that Charles Marsh has been appointed as SVP of global sales. Before joining ADTRAN, Marsh served as the managing director for Xura.

Spirent Communications’ Director Resigns

Spirent Communications, that provides test and service management solutions for the communications industry, announced that Tom Lantzsch will be stepping down from the Board. Tom joined Spirent as a non-executive director in May 2015, but has stepped down from the Board to focus on his new role at Intel as SVP and General Manager of their Internet of Things (IoT) Group.

Extreme Networks Appoints John Shoemaker as Chairman John Shoemaker

Extreme Networks, that delivers software-driven networking solutions, named John Shoemaker to Chairman. Shoemaker is an industry veteran with significant experience at high technology companies, including Altera, SonicWall, Sun Microsystems and Xerox. In addition, Shoemaker has held various senior and executive-level management positions as SVP of worldwide marketing at Xerox and VP and GM of its Document Systems Business as well as EVP of worldwide operations at Sun Microsystems and EVP and GM of its Computer Systems Division.

Shoemaker succeeds John Kispert who has decided to step down from the Board to focus on other professional and personal interests.
