Apple Hires Shiva Rajaraman to Boost its Video and Music StrategyShiva Rajaraman

In a bid to boost its video and music strategy, Apple has hired former YouTube and Spotify executive, Shiva Rajaraman. Rajaraman spent 8 years at YouTube, working to secure licensed content from companies like Disney for streaming.  After his tenure at YouTube, Rajaraman spent two years at Spotify working on its video and podcasting efforts, licensing content from Time Warner, Disney and NBC.

Kleiner Perkins’ Chief Product Officer Resigns from Amazon Board

William B. Gordon, 66, resigned as a director of Amazon after fourteen years on the board. Gordon stepped down so he could provide consulting services to the company for two years. Gordon is currently the Chief Product Officer at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Bing also leads KPCB’s sFund, the investment initiative to fund and build applications and services that deliver on the promise of the social web.

Comcast Cable COO Promoted as CEO      

Comcast announced that after seven years as CEO of its Cable division, Neil Smit is changing roles beginning April 1. Smit will become the vice chairman of Comcast with plans to focus on developing future technology oriented business opportunities by working part-time with other company leaders. The current COO of Comcast Cable, Dave Watson, will take over as CEO. Smit will spend several months working with Watson to ensure a smooth transition.

Intel Announces Board Appointments and Executive Promotions           

Intel announced that Omar Ishrak and Greg Smith have been elected to Intel’s board of directors. Ishrak is the chairman and CEO of Medtronic. He has served in that role since 2011.

Smith is the CFO and EVP of corporate development and strategy at Boeing. He has served as Boeing’s finance leader since 2012 and its strategy leader since 2015.

Intel announced that Diane Bryant, Murthy Renduchintala and Stacy Smith have been promoted to Group Presidents and Renduchintala has been appointed Chief Engineering Officer.

Bryant has been named Group President of the Data Center Group (DCG). She has been leading DCG since 2012 and is responsible for the group's P&L, strategy and product development.

Renduchintala has been named Group President, Client and Internet of Things Business & Systems Architecture Group (CISA), and appointed chief engineering officer.

Smith has been named Group President of Manufacturing, Operations and Sales. He has overseen the company's global Technology and Manufacturing Group and its worldwide sales organization since last fall.

Aicha S. Evans has been named Chief Strategy Officer. Most recently, she was the general manager of the Communication and Devices Group. Evans joined company in 2006.

IBM Appoints Chief Digital Officer for India/South Asia               

IBM has appointed Nipun Mehrotra as Chief Digital Officer for India/South Asia, and the appointment comes with months of Bob Lord, IBM's first ever Chief Digital Officer, being charged with bringing together the digital business group (DBG). Over the past two years, as the VP for strategy growth initiatives, Mehrotra led IBM's transformational strategy across several areas in Asia & India. For businesses, Mehrotra's team will build proofs of concept around digital.

SAP Announces Newly Expanded Responsibilities of Key Executives    Robert Enslin

Robert Enslin and Bernd Leukert will shift and expand their portfolios as members of the Executive Board of SAP. The Supervisory Board of SAP has named Adaire Fox-Martin and Jennifer Morgan to the Executive Board. In addition, two new leadership assignments were announced for current EMEA President Franck Cohen and SAP Cloud Platform President Bjoern Goerke. Cohen will become chief commercial officer and Goerke CTO.

The Supervisory Board has asked Robert Enslin, head of Global Customer Operations, to be president of the new Cloud Business Group. He will oversee SAP® Ariba®, SAP Fieldglass®, Concur®, SAP SuccessFactors®, and SAP Hybris® solutions as well as the SMB Solutions Group organization.

Bernd Leukert, head of Products & Innovation at SAP, will expand his portfolio to accelerate SAP's platform and digital transformation strategy.

Adaire Fox-Martin will oversee EMEA and Greater China.

Jennifer Morgan will oversee the Americas and Asia-Pacific-Japan regions.

As chief commercial officer, Franck Cohen will lead SAP's channel business as well as assume responsibility for all sales processes and go-to-market initiatives across SAP.

As CTO, Bjoern Goerke will advance the company's technology strategy and serve as a key external spokesperson.

Steve Singh, president of Business Networks and Applications, will leave SAP at the end of this month. Singh collaborated closely with Enslin, and together they transitioned Concur solutions into the SAP product family.

Broadcom Re-appoints Former Employee as Chief Legal Officer              

Patricia H. McCall, VP and General Counsel of Broadcom, is retiring from the company. Mark Brazeal has been appointed to serve as the company’s Chief Legal Officer. Brazeal served as the Chief Legal Officer and SVP, IP Licensing of SanDisk from 2014 to 2016, when SanDisk was acquired by Western Digital. Prior to joining SanDisk, he served in various positions of increasing responsibility at Broadcom from 2000 to 2014, most recently as SVP and Senior Deputy General Counsel.

Qualcomm Appoints EVP, Engineering as CTO     

Qualcomm announced that Dr. James H. Thompson, EVP of engineering, has been appointed to the additional position of CTO. Matt Grob, EVP, Qualcomm Technologies and CTO, will transition to the role of EVP of technology, Qualcomm Technologies. In addition to leading QCT engineering, as CTO, Thompson will align the companywide technical and product roadmaps across all business areas.

TCS Makes Company Secretary Changes              

TCS announced that Suprakash Mukhopadhyay, Global Treasury Head and Company Secretary, will be transferred to Tata Sons Limited and will join the Chairman's office, reporting to the Chairman.  Suprakash Mukhopadhyay joined the Company in 2008 from Tata Sons Limited as Company Secretary and in 2010 took over the Global Treasury function.

The board has appointed Rajendra Moholkar as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer Designate, to take over from Suprakash Mukhopadhyay.  Moholkar is a seasoned professional having over 20 years of experience in company secretary function.

Salesforce’s Board Member with Financial and Administrative Expertise Intends to Step Down

Lawrence Tomlinson, 75, intends to retire from the board of Salesforce. Tomlinson served as SVP and treasurer for Hewlett-Packard until 2003. Tomlinson has a broad global financial and administrative background that includes expertise in controllership, tax, treasury, order fulfillment, information technology, distribution, logistics and financial strategic alliances.

eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar Not to Stand for Re-Election to PayPal Board         

Pierre Omidyar informed PayPal that he will not stand for re-election to PayPal’s Board of Directors when his current term expires. He is the founder of the eBay where he served as chairman from 1998 to 2015.

Cognizant Goes Through Board Changes              

Cognizant announced that Betsy S. Atkins and John M. Dineen have been elected to its Board as new independent directors. Atkins has been the CEO of venture capital firm Baja and was previously Chairman and CEO of Clear Standards. 

Dineen previously served as CEO of GE Healthcare and held a number of senior executive roles in his 28 year career at General Electric. Since January 2015, he has served as Operating Advisor at private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.

Cognizant also announced that Lakshmi Narayanan and Thomas M. Wendel will not be seeking re-election.  Narayanan has served as a Board member since 2003 and Wendel has served as a member of the Board since 2001.

Infosys Appoints Independent Director Ravi Venkatesan as the Co-Chairman of the Board         

Infosys appointed Ravi Venkatesan, Independent Director as the Co-Chairman of the Board. Venkatesan is the Chairman of the Board at Bank of Baroda. He is also the founder Chairman of Social Venture Partners India, a partner at Unitus Seed Fund and a fund advisor at Kalaari Capital. Ravi serves on the boards of Rockefeller Foundation and several advisory boards. Prior to this, he was Chairman of Microsoft India between 2004 and 2011. Ravi has served on the boards of Harvard Business School, AB Volvo, Bunge, and Thermax.

Nokia Changes Organizational Structure; Brings Changes to Group Leadership Team

Nokia announced changes in its organizational structure and Group Leadership Team (GLT). The organizational changes include the separation of Nokia's current Mobile Networks business group into two distinct, but closely linked organizations: one focused on products and solutions, called Mobile Networks, and the other on services, called Global Services.

The company also announced that Marc Rouanne, currently Chief Innovation and Operating Officer, will become President of the Mobile Networks business group, responsible for mobile products and solutions, including 4G, 5G, cloud core, small cells and other advanced mobile solutions. Rouanne will remain on the GLT.

Igor Leprince, currently EVP of Global Services, will take the role of President of Global Services, a new business group comprised of the Services organization that currently resides within the existing Mobile Networks business group, including company-wide managed services. Leprince will join the GLT as a new member.

Monika Maurer, currently COO of Fixed Networks, will assume the position of Group COO, responsible for Nokia's operating model, Global Operations (manufacturing and supply chain), procurement, implementation of cost saving and ongoing transformation activities, information technology, real estate, and quality. Maurer will join the GLT as a new member.

Marcus Weldon, currently President of Nokia Bell Labs and CTO, will retain those responsibilities and join the GLT as a new member.

Kathrin Buvac, Chief Strategy Officer, will assume additional responsibilities for incubation of select new business opportunities, and Barry French, Chief Marketing Officer, will assume additional responsibilities for Health, Safety, Security and Environment. They will both remain on the GLT.

With the integration of Alcatel-Lucent largely complete, Samih Elhage has decided to leave Nokia to pursue new opportunities.

Ericsson Simplifies Organizational Structure; Witnesses Leadership Shuffles

In line with the business strategy, Ericsson is simplifying its organizational structure by removing the two-tiered leadership structure, Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team, and forming a single Executive Team. In addition, the geographical setup with ten regions will become five market areas, and the business areas are re-defined and reduced to three.

Per Borgklint, Anders Lindblad, Jean-Philippe Poirault and Charlotta Sund will leave the executive leadership team.

Ericsson appointed Nunzio Mirtillo as head of market area South East Asia, Oceania and India.

Rafiah Ibrahim named as President and Head of the newly created Market Area Middle East and Africa. The appointment follows a review of the Ericsson's business strategy and changes to the Executive team. Ibrahim, who has led Region Middle East since July 2014, stepped into the role from April 2017 as a new member of Ericsson's Executive Team. The newly-created Market Area was formed by merging the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa regions, in a move to revitalize technology and market leadership and enable customer success.

Paychex Director Pamela A. Joseph ResignsPamela A. Joseph

Pamela A. Joseph, 57, notified Paychex of her resignation from the Company's Board of Directors. Joseph has been a member of the Board since 2005. Joseph has been the President and COO of Total System Services since May 2016.

Expedia Elects Chelsea Clinton as Director 

Expedia expanded the size of the Board from thirteen to fourteen members and elected Chelsea Clinton to fill the newly-created directorship. Clinton currently serves as Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation where her work emphasizes improving global and domestic health, creating service opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders. She has previously worked as an associate at McKinsey and as an Assistant Vice Provost at New York University, where she focused on interfaith initiatives and the university’s Global Expansion Program.

Red Hat Appoints Acting CFO to Permanent Finance Chief Role               

Red Hat announced that Eric Shander has been named the company’s EVP and CFO. As Red Hat’s CFO, Shander will be responsible for leading the company’s global finance organization. Shander most recently served as Red Hat’s acting CFO, and VP and chief accounting officer.

Capgemini Announces Management Changes  

Capgemini confirmed a number of Group leadership appointments. Jean-Philippe Bol, formerly Deputy Head of Application Services Two1 becomes Head of the Cloud Infrastructure Services Strategic Business Unit. Jean-Philippe will continue to serve on Capgemini's Group Executive Committee2 (GEC). Prior he was COO of Application Services Two in charge of all operations.

John Mullen, formerly Head of Insurance for Capgemini's Financial Services Global Business Unit, becomes Head of Application Services in North America and joins the GEC. He leads a team of professionals in the U.S., Canada and India who partner with North American clients to deliver innovative business technology solutions in Cloud and Digital, transformational change, IT and operational excellence.

John replaces Tim Bridges who is now Global Head of the Consumer Products, Retail and Distribution (CPRD) Unit. Tim was appointed Global Head of Consumer Products, Retail and Distribution (CPRD) in January 2017. Prior to this he headed up Capgemini's Application Services in North America.

Cyril Garcia becomes Head of Digital Services for the Group, replacing Dee Burger who will now lead the Digital practice for Application Services in North America reporting to John Mullen. Cyril retains responsibility for the Capgemini Consulting Strategic Business Unit and his place on the GEC. Cyril was appointed head of Digital Services for the Capgemini Group in March 2017. He has also been Head of Capgemini Consulting since January 2015, the global strategy and transformation consulting arm of the Group, and has been a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2010. From 2013, Cyril held roles heading up Capgemini Consulting in France and in Spain.

Finally, Christine Hodgson has been appointed head of Group Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) and joins the GEC. In this strategic position for the Group, Christine will chair the Capgemini CSR board and will report to Hubert Giraud, Group Executive Board member. Christine also retains her UK country board chairwoman role. Christine has worked at Capgemini for 19 years in a number of UK and Global roles including CEO for Technology Services in North West Europe, and CFO for both Capgemini UK Plc and the Global Outsourcing Division.

Rakuten Announces Executive Changes               

Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten appointed Kentaro Hyakuno as EVP, COO & CMO, Group EVP. He is currently Managing Executive Officer, COO & CMO, Group EVP.

Naho Kono was appointed as Managing Executive Office, E-Commerce Company President. Currently he is Senior Executive Office, E-Commerce Company President.

Yuzo Hashiya is now Insurance Company President as Executive Officer, Insurance Company President.

Kazuhiko Kasahara, Card & Payments Company, Point Partner Business Department, General Manager appointed as Executive Officer

Ryo Matsumura, E-Commerce Company Director named as Executive Officer, E-Commerce Company Director

Yoshiyuki Takano, Life & Leisure Company, Travel Business, VP named as Executive Officer, Life & Leisure Company, Travel Business, VP.

Arjen van de Vall, Rakuten Europe Chief Commercial Officer appointed as Executive Officer, Rakuten Europe Chief Commercial Officer.

ServiceNow Appoints New CEO as Director

ServiceNow expanded the size of the Board from ten to eleven members and appointed new President and CEO John J. Donahoe to Board.  Donahoe was appointed as a director in connection with his appointment as the Company's President and CEO.

Motorola Solutions Appoints Skype Exec as Head of Software       

Motorola Solutions announced the leader of the company’s new software organization. Andrew Sinclair, previously of the Skype division of Microsoft, joins Motorola Solutions as the company’s first-ever head of software. Sinclair will lead the company’s software organization. As head of software, Sinclair will lead an integrated team focused on development, sales and delivery of software that provides critical intelligence to public safety and commercial users.

Motorola Solutions has appointed Sirio Magliocca as General Manager and President for the Italian market. Sirio, who has been with the Motorola Solutions since 1986, leads the company's channel business in Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Malta, responsible for reseller networks, marketing and sales activity. In his role as General Manager, he will lead the development and implementation of business strategies in Italy for both government and commercial sectors.

Atos Executes Senior Management Succession Plan      

Atos announced that Charles Dehelly, 67, Atos Senior EVP, in charge of Global Operations and the TOP performance program, has decided that it is time for him to retire, after more than 8 years of service in the company. Planned and prepared a long time ago by Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO, together with Charles Dehelly, the consecutive organizational adjustments have been announced.

Eric Grall, Head of the Infrastructure and Data Management division (IDM) is succeeding Charles Dehelly as Head of Global Operations and the TOP performance program.

Peter Pluim, currently COO of the Infrastructure and Data Management division (IDM), is appointed Head of IDM, replacing Eric Grall. Peter Pluim is joining the Atos Executive Committee in this capacity. Pluim joined Atos in this capacity in September 2012, coming from a sixteen year career at IBM.

Eric Grall led the Atos Infrastructure and Data Management division of Atos for the last 8 years. Eric Grall comes from HP that he joined after his engineering degree in 1986, and where he held first positions in marketing and R&D product business, before entering the Services activities of the Group in 1998. Eric joined Atos in 2009 as EVP of the Infrastructure & Data Management division.

Twitter Director Peter Fenton Steps Down

Benchmark partner Peter Fenton, who had been on Twitter’s board since 2009, will not seek re-election to the board. Fenton has been a General Partner at Benchmark Capital since May 2006. Prior to joining Benchmark, Peter was a Managing Partner at Accel Partners, a venture capital firm, from 1999 to 2006.
