Texas Instruments Elects Retired PwC Veteran to the Board of Directors     Jean Hobby

Texas Instruments elected Jean Hobby to the Board of Directors of the company. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Hobby, 55, served as strategy officer from 2013 until retirement in 2015. Earlier positions there included U.S. sector lead for the firm's multi-billion dollar Technology, Media and Telecom practice from 2008 to 2013, and CFO from 2005 to 2008. She currently serves on the board of Greatbatch.

CSC and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Announce Executive Appointments for New Company       

CSC announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved a plan to merge the company with the Enterprise Services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Meg Whitman, HPE’s president and CEO, will join the new company’s Board of Directors, which will be split equally between nominees of CSC and HPE.

Electronic Arts Appoints CEO of Blackhawk Network to Its BoardTalbott Roche

Electronic Arts appointed Talbott Roche, 49, to EA’s Board of Directors. Roche is the CEO and President of Blackhawk Network. Prior to her role as CEO, Roche served as the President of Blackhawk, as well as leading Marketing, Product and Business Development for the company.

Twitter Sees Multiple Board Shuffles           

Twitter announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Debra L.  Lee, 60, Chairman and CEO of BET Networks, he parent company for Black Entertainment Television, to serve as a Board member. She served as the COO and President of Black Entertainment Television LLC since 1996.

Additionally, the Board has appointed Marjorie Scardino, 69, as lead independent director, effective following Twitter's 2016 Annual Meeting. She succeeds Peter Currie in the role, whose term will end following the Annual Meeting. Scardino is the former CEO of Pearson PLC.

CSRA to Get New Chairman          

Nancy Killefer, who currently serves as CSRA's Lead Independent Director, has been elected to succeed Mike Lawrie as Chairman, pending her re-election to the board of directors at the annual meeting. Killefer is Director Emeritus at McKinsey & Company. She previously served as Assistant Secretary for Management and CFO to the U.S. Department of Treasury. She currently serves as Vice Chair on the Defense Business Board and is a member of the MyVA Advisory Committee. Killefer is a Director of the Advisory Board Company, Avon Products and Cardinal Health.

Fitbit Adds Two Women from Retail Industry to Board Laura Alber

Fitbit, the physical activity monitoring gadget company, announced that Laura Alber, president and CEO of Williams-Sonoma, and Glenda Flanagan, EVP and CFO of Whole Foods Market, have joined the Fitbit board of directors.

Alber has served as the president and CEO of Williams-Sonoma since 2010, leading growth strategies and strengthening brand reputation for the company’s portfolio of multi-channel brands.

Since joining Whole Foods Market as CFO in 1988, Flanagan has played a major role in the development of the company from six stores in the late 1980s and going public in 1992, to 450 stores and more than $15 billion in sales today.
