Ericsson Announces Topmost Management Changes
Ericsson announced that in connection with Borje Ekholm assuming the position as President and CEO of Ericsson, Jan Frykhammar, who has temporarily held the position as President and CEO, remains a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is appointed Executive Vice President and Advisor to the CEO. Jan Frykhammar will support Borje Ekholm during a transition period and will focus on corporate governance and efficiency.
Magnus Mandersson remains Executive Vice President, Advisor to the CEO, focusing on customer relationships, and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Mandersson also remains Chairperson of four out of Ericsson's ten regions.
Carl Mellander remains acting Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Ericsson has appointed Wojciech Bajda as the head of industry and society init for Region Middle East. Bajda will be responsible for driving business growth and capturing market opportunities within the Middle East region. Bajda joined the company in Poland in 2000 as a sales manager.
Ciena COO Steps Down
Ciena announced that François Locoh-Donou will step down as senior vice president and COO. Locoh-Donou joined Ciena in 2002 and served in several leadership positions before becoming COO in November 2015.
MTS Systems Corporation Announces Board Changes; Retirement of President, Test and Subsequent Structural Changes
MTS Systems Corporation elected Maximiliane Straub to serve on the Company's Board of Directors. Straub serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Bosch and EVP Finance, Controlling and Administration of Bosch North America (2010 to present).
MTS announced the retirement of William E. Bachrach as the company's President, Test.
In conjunction with Dr. Bachrach's retirement, given the growth in demand and sophistication of testing needs across the primary markets served by MTS, and to drive greater specific market focus, the Test business will be divided into two business units, 'Materials Test Systems' and 'Vehicles and Structures Test Systems'. The Test business unit will be led by William Becker, a 30-year veteran of MTS, who recently returned to the Company after leading the North American business segment for another global materials test company since 2010.
The 'Vehicles and Structures Test Systems' business unit will focus on providing test solutions to automotive, aerospace, infrastructure and energy markets world-wide. MTS announced that Steven Harrison will join MTS to lead the 'Vehicles and Structures Test Systems' business unit. He joins MTS following a distinguished 22-year career with the U.S. Air Force, followed by successful business leadership roles at National Air Cargo, and, most recently, with AAR CORP. where he served as President of AAR Airlift Group.
