Salesforce’s Board Member with Financial and Administrative Expertise Intends to Step Down

Lawrence Tomlinson, 75, intends to retire from the board of Salesforce. Tomlinson served as SVP and treasurer for Hewlett-Packard until 2003. Tomlinson has a broad global financial and administrative background that includes expertise in controllership, tax, treasury, order fulfillment, information technology, distribution, logistics and financial strategic alliances.

Motorola Solutions Appoints Skype Exec as Head of Software        

Motorola Solutions announced the leader of the company’s new software organization. Andrew Sinclair, previously of the Skype division of Microsoft, joins Motorola Solutions as the company’s first-ever head of software. Sinclair will lead the company’s software organization. As head of software, Sinclair will lead an integrated team focused on development, sales and delivery of software that provides critical intelligence to public safety and commercial users.

NetApp Appoints SVP for its Cloud Business Unit       Anthony Lye  

NetApp appointed Anthony Lye as SVP, Cloud Business Unit. Lye drives the strategy and execution necessary to create a profitable cloud business for NetApp and establish the company as the undisputed leader in managing data in a cloud-integrated world. Lye brings more than 25 years of diverse leadership experience to NetApp, spanning roles in development, product management, marketing, sales, and as a high-tech CEO. Prior to his role as EVP and chief cloud officer at Guidewire Software, he served as president & CEO for HotSchedules.

ANSYS Appoints BD and Corporate Marketing VP from SAP          

ANSYS is bolstering its executive team and strengthening its long-term strategic development capabilities by appointing industry veteran Matthew Zack as its VP of business development and corporate marketing. Zack joins the company from SAP, where his most recent role was senior corporate development executive. Previously, Zack served as the EVP and CFO of Ariba.

The Sage Group Appoints Cath Keers as Non-Executive Director    

The Sage Group plc appointed Cath Keers to its board as a non-executive director. She was a non-executive director of Home Retail Group from September 2011 to September 2016. Keers is a non-executive director of the Royal Mail group, TalkTalk Telecom Group and Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society and is the Chairman of Ustwo. Cath Keers served as a Customer Director of 02 PLC, UK since March 2004 and served as its Marketing Director. She was also GM at BT.

SS&C Technologies Director to Leave; Appoints Global Leader for Real Assets Division

William A. Etherington, 75, provided notice of his intent to retire as a director of SS&C Technologies. Etherington is resigning for personal reasons and not due to any disagreement with the company. Etherington has been a Director of SS&C since 2006. He is former CEO and President of IBM World Trade Corporation.

SS&C Technologies Holdings appointed Bhagesh Malde as Managing Director & Global Head for SS&C GlobeOp's Real Assets division, to include Real Estate and Infrastructure services, and software products. Most recently, Malde was Senior Managing Director and global head of Private Equity and Real Estate at State Street. Prior to this, he was Managing Director and global head of Hedge Fund Services at J.P.  Morgan.

Take-Two Interactive Software Appoints Expert on Urban Education to the Board

Video game publishing company Take-Two Interactive Software appointed LaVerne Srinivasan to the company’s Board of Directors. Srinivasan is VP of the National Program and Program Director for Education at the Carnegie Corporation of New York, employing creative strategies and innovative thinking to strengthen urban education.

Oracle Financial Services Software Appoints Oracle Assistant General Counsel as DirectorKimberly Woolley

Oracle Financial Services Software named Kimberly Woolley as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director of the company. Woolley is Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Oracle.

EPAM Systems Hires CFO from Cognizant  

EPAM Systems, the provider of software product development and digital platform engineering services, announced that Jason Peterson will join EPAM, and will succeed Anthony Conte as CFO. Peterson joins EPAM with 25-years of finance experience and, for the last nine years, was employed by Cognizant Technology Solutions.

Tech Data CEO to Add On Chair Role         

Tech Data announced that Chairman Steven A. (Steve) Raymund has informed the board of directors that he will not stand for reelection as a board member and will retire as chairman. Tech Data CEO and board member Robert M. (Bob) Dutkowsky will be appointed chairman of the board following Raymund’s retirement, and Charles E. (Eddie) Adair will continue in his role as lead independent director. Dutkowsky joined Tech Data in October 2006 as CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors.

Software AG Gets Research & Development Leader from SAP        

Dr. Stefan Sigg will join Software AG as new Chief Research & Development Officer. Prior to joining Software AG, Dr. Sigg held a leading R&D management position at SAP.

Recently Appointed Hertz CEO Resigns as Director of RealPage

Kathryn V. Marinello, 60, a board member of property management software firm RealPage, indicated her intention to resign her position as director of the Company. Marinello has been the CEO, President and Director at Hertz Global Holdings since January 2017.

Verint Systems Appoints FirstRain’s Chair and Former CEO to Board         

Verint Systems appointed Penelope Herscher to the Board. Herscher has over 15 years of experience as a high-tech CEO and over 10 years serving on public company boards. She currently sits on the boards of Lumentum Operations and Rambus Corporation. She is executive chairman at FirstRain and was formerly President & CEO until 2015.

SimCorp Appoints Board Member and CFO 

Investment management software solutions firm SimCorp elected Adam Warby, 56, as new member of the Board of Directors. Warby has been the Chief Executive Officer of Avanade since September 2008.

SimCorp also appointed Michael Rosenvold, as new CFO. Rosenvold joins SimCorp from Rambøll, where he has served as the group CFO since 2008. SimCorp’s current, interim CFO, Søren Strøm, will remain in his position at least until Michael Rosenvold has joined.

Sequoia Capital’s Partner to Retire from the Board of FireEye        William M. Coughran Jr. 

William M. Coughran Jr., 63, notified FireEye of his decision to not stand for re-election to the company's Board of Directors when his current term expires at the company's next annual meeting of stockholders to be held in June 2017. Coughran has served as a member of the Board since July 2012. Coughran has been a Partner of Sequoia Capital since October 2011. Coughran focuses on early, seed and growth stage investments in technology sector. He served as SVP of Engineering at Google from 2003 to 2011.

Sophos Group Taps Worldpay Group’s CFO as Newest Board Member

Sophos Group announced that Rick Medlock is to be appointed as a non-executive director of the company. Ed Gillis will retire as a non-executive director of the company. Medlock is currently the CFO at Worldpay Group.

Progress Software Sees CFO Replacement    

Progress Software announced that Paul Jalbert, chief accounting officer, has been named as CFO. Jalbert has been chief accounting officer since joining the company in August 2012. As CFO, Jalbert replaces Kurt Abkemeier, who will leave the company.

FARO Technologies Announces Finance Executive Changes           

Janet D’Anjou, VP and Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer of 3D measurement, imaging and realization technology company FARO Technologies', was appointed as VP, Finance and Corporate Development.

Concurrent with this appointment, Stephen Bubar was appointed as the company’s VP and Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer. Bubar, previously served as Senior Director, Financial Reporting of Masimo Corporation from 2013 to April 2017, as Director, Financial Reporting from 2006 to 2013 and as Assistant Controller from 2003 to 2006.

BasWare Witnesses Leadership Changes        

Mikko Pilkama has been appointed as SVP, Network and Financing Services and as a member of the Executive Team at Basware, the Finnish software company selling enterprise software for financial processes. Prior to Basware, Mikko Pilkama was VP, Banking Services at CGI, and has held senior executive positions at Nets, Luottokunta and Nokia.

Ad van der Poel has stepped down from his position on the Basware executive team as the head of Financing Services and will pursue opportunities outside the company. The position of senior vice president, Financing Services will cease to exist.

VASCO Data Security International Appoints New CIO

VASCO Data Security International appointed Jeff Cole to the position of CIO. Cole has held senior management positions at leading companies in the technology field and most recently served as Senior Director Information Management for CareerBuilder. Prior to CareerBuilder, Cole held various management positions for Discover Financial Services rising through a series of roles with increasing responsibility.

Welcome to the Vell Leadership Update for the 31 days ending April 16, 2017. 

We’ve seen a lot of shakeups this past month, as 77 new heads of technology have stepped up, including new CTOs, CIOs, tech & ops execs and CISOs. Quite a few new tech executive roles have opened up, as well.

Now, onto the leadership update on technology function executive moves.

Following is an overview of this month’s trends. 

By the numbers, overall:

  •      New Tech Exec Appointments: 77 (7 women or 9%, 70 men)

​Geographic Distribution: 62 in the US, 13 in Europe, and 3 in Asia/Russia/ Australasia.

Sources of Appointments: 56 were External appointments, and 21 were internal promotions.

Nordstrom is searching for a technology executive to lead digital strategy following an executive-level shakeup in which the retailer’s chief information officer and chief technology officer announced their departures in the span of two weeks. The CIO title will be eliminated. The company plans to hire a new CTO by the end of the year who will be responsible for all aspects of technology at Nordstrom.
 
TE Connectivity, Switzerland - $14.26B, October 2015  
EVP and CTO, Robert Shaddock, plans to retire from the Company effective late in 2016.
 
Kellogg Company, Illinois - $13.5B, August 2016
Kellogg Company is seeking a VP, Chief Information Security Officer at the Kellogg Company in Oak Brook, IL.
 
Biogen, Massachusetts - $9.7B, June 2016
After just over a year in the position, Biogen CIO Matt Griffiths is no longer with the company. Biogen plans to fill the CIO position. Adriana Andi Karaboutis, Biogen’s EVP of technology, business solutions and corporate affairs, who looked after the role, has also left.
 
Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri, Turkey, $4.61B, August 2016
Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS announced that lker Kuruoz, who joined Company in 2006, and who has served as the EVP of Technology Group, has decided to resign from his position. *no replacement announced.
 
Teradata Labs, California - $2.53B, July 2016
Teradata Labs is looking for a CTO to join the Unified Data Architecture (UDA) Platform Technologies team.
 
Marvell Technology, Bermuda, $2.458B, September 2016
Dr. Zining Wu, CTO, notified Marvell Technology of his decision to leave Marvell. *The company did not announce whether it has yet found a permanent replacement.
 
Twitter, California - $2.2B, December 2016
Twitter's CTO Adam Messinger tweeted that he decided to leave the company and take some time off. Messinger didn't say where he was headed next.
 
Criteo SA, France - $1.62B, November 2016
Romain Niccoli resigned from his position as the company's Chief Product Officer effective December 31, 2016. Mr. Niccoli has agreed to serve the company in a consulting role for a period of time following his resignation.
 
Amedisys, Louisiana - $1.35B, October 2016
Amedisys announced that Martin B.  Howard, CIO, is leaving the company, effective October 31, 2016. Michael North, SVP of operations, will assume the role of interim CIO. North, a seasoned IT executive, most recently led Amedisys' successful conversion to the Homecare Homebase platform.
 
Informatica, California, $1.05B, September 2016Informatica is looking for a CISO to lead the corporate security and data privacy.
 
US Government Publishing Office, Washington, DC - $773.4M, November 2016
U.S.  Government Publishing Office (GPO) named Tracee Boxley Acting CIO. Boxley replaces former GPO CIO Chuck Riddle, who has moved to the U.S.  Securities and Exchange Commission. Boxley came to GPO in 2006 as a Senior Customer Advocate for IT and was promoted to Deputy CIO in 2012. 
 
MicroStrategy, Virginia - $579.8M, June 2015    
MicroStrategy seeks a CISO, who will establish and develop global information security management programs for our internal systems and customer offerings.
 
Sheng Siong Group, Singapore - $577.4M, October 2016
Sheng Siong Group announced the cessation of Gary Pow Han Chin as CIO due to personal reasons. He is responsible for overseeing group's design, development, implementation and maintenance of the various computer systems required for operations, including Management Information System, as well as enterprise Resource Planning System, data recovery plans and back-up schemes.
 
AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, South Carolina - $503.6M, April 2017
AgFirst Farm Credit Bank announced the retirement of CIO Benjamin Blakewood.

Welcome to our CEO Turnover Newsletter. This newsletter covers open CEO roles and latest appointments in the tech sector in the month of April 2017. 

The average length of time the CEO searches have been open is 4.06 months, up from 3.8 months earlier this year. There is little variance across geographies.

Now, onto the leadership update on CEO moves.

Following is an overview of this month’s trends.

Sources of Appointments: 43 were External appointments, and 38 were internal promotions.

Apple Hires Shiva Rajaraman to Boost its Video and Music StrategyShiva Rajaraman

In a bid to boost its video and music strategy, Apple has hired former YouTube and Spotify executive, Shiva Rajaraman. Rajaraman spent 8 years at YouTube, working to secure licensed content from companies like Disney for streaming.  After his tenure at YouTube, Rajaraman spent two years at Spotify working on its video and podcasting efforts, licensing content from Time Warner, Disney and NBC.

Kleiner Perkins’ Chief Product Officer Resigns from Amazon Board

William B. Gordon, 66, resigned as a director of Amazon after fourteen years on the board. Gordon stepped down so he could provide consulting services to the company for two years. Gordon is currently the Chief Product Officer at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Bing also leads KPCB’s sFund, the investment initiative to fund and build applications and services that deliver on the promise of the social web.

Comcast Cable COO Promoted as CEO      

Comcast announced that after seven years as CEO of its Cable division, Neil Smit is changing roles beginning April 1. Smit will become the vice chairman of Comcast with plans to focus on developing future technology oriented business opportunities by working part-time with other company leaders. The current COO of Comcast Cable, Dave Watson, will take over as CEO. Smit will spend several months working with Watson to ensure a smooth transition.

Intel Announces Board Appointments and Executive Promotions           

Intel announced that Omar Ishrak and Greg Smith have been elected to Intel’s board of directors. Ishrak is the chairman and CEO of Medtronic. He has served in that role since 2011.

Smith is the CFO and EVP of corporate development and strategy at Boeing. He has served as Boeing’s finance leader since 2012 and its strategy leader since 2015.

Intel announced that Diane Bryant, Murthy Renduchintala and Stacy Smith have been promoted to Group Presidents and Renduchintala has been appointed Chief Engineering Officer.

Bryant has been named Group President of the Data Center Group (DCG). She has been leading DCG since 2012 and is responsible for the group's P&L, strategy and product development.

Renduchintala has been named Group President, Client and Internet of Things Business & Systems Architecture Group (CISA), and appointed chief engineering officer.

Smith has been named Group President of Manufacturing, Operations and Sales. He has overseen the company's global Technology and Manufacturing Group and its worldwide sales organization since last fall.

Aicha S. Evans has been named Chief Strategy Officer. Most recently, she was the general manager of the Communication and Devices Group. Evans joined company in 2006.

IBM Appoints Chief Digital Officer for India/South Asia               

IBM has appointed Nipun Mehrotra as Chief Digital Officer for India/South Asia, and the appointment comes with months of Bob Lord, IBM's first ever Chief Digital Officer, being charged with bringing together the digital business group (DBG). Over the past two years, as the VP for strategy growth initiatives, Mehrotra led IBM's transformational strategy across several areas in Asia & India. For businesses, Mehrotra's team will build proofs of concept around digital.

SAP Announces Newly Expanded Responsibilities of Key Executives    Robert Enslin

Robert Enslin and Bernd Leukert will shift and expand their portfolios as members of the Executive Board of SAP. The Supervisory Board of SAP has named Adaire Fox-Martin and Jennifer Morgan to the Executive Board. In addition, two new leadership assignments were announced for current EMEA President Franck Cohen and SAP Cloud Platform President Bjoern Goerke. Cohen will become chief commercial officer and Goerke CTO.

The Supervisory Board has asked Robert Enslin, head of Global Customer Operations, to be president of the new Cloud Business Group. He will oversee SAP® Ariba®, SAP Fieldglass®, Concur®, SAP SuccessFactors®, and SAP Hybris® solutions as well as the SMB Solutions Group organization.

Bernd Leukert, head of Products & Innovation at SAP, will expand his portfolio to accelerate SAP's platform and digital transformation strategy.

Adaire Fox-Martin will oversee EMEA and Greater China.

Jennifer Morgan will oversee the Americas and Asia-Pacific-Japan regions.

As chief commercial officer, Franck Cohen will lead SAP's channel business as well as assume responsibility for all sales processes and go-to-market initiatives across SAP.

As CTO, Bjoern Goerke will advance the company's technology strategy and serve as a key external spokesperson.

Steve Singh, president of Business Networks and Applications, will leave SAP at the end of this month. Singh collaborated closely with Enslin, and together they transitioned Concur solutions into the SAP product family.

Broadcom Re-appoints Former Employee as Chief Legal Officer              

Patricia H. McCall, VP and General Counsel of Broadcom, is retiring from the company. Mark Brazeal has been appointed to serve as the company’s Chief Legal Officer. Brazeal served as the Chief Legal Officer and SVP, IP Licensing of SanDisk from 2014 to 2016, when SanDisk was acquired by Western Digital. Prior to joining SanDisk, he served in various positions of increasing responsibility at Broadcom from 2000 to 2014, most recently as SVP and Senior Deputy General Counsel.

Qualcomm Appoints EVP, Engineering as CTO     

Qualcomm announced that Dr. James H. Thompson, EVP of engineering, has been appointed to the additional position of CTO. Matt Grob, EVP, Qualcomm Technologies and CTO, will transition to the role of EVP of technology, Qualcomm Technologies. In addition to leading QCT engineering, as CTO, Thompson will align the companywide technical and product roadmaps across all business areas.

TCS Makes Company Secretary Changes              

TCS announced that Suprakash Mukhopadhyay, Global Treasury Head and Company Secretary, will be transferred to Tata Sons Limited and will join the Chairman's office, reporting to the Chairman.  Suprakash Mukhopadhyay joined the Company in 2008 from Tata Sons Limited as Company Secretary and in 2010 took over the Global Treasury function.

The board has appointed Rajendra Moholkar as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer Designate, to take over from Suprakash Mukhopadhyay.  Moholkar is a seasoned professional having over 20 years of experience in company secretary function.

Salesforce’s Board Member with Financial and Administrative Expertise Intends to Step Down

Lawrence Tomlinson, 75, intends to retire from the board of Salesforce. Tomlinson served as SVP and treasurer for Hewlett-Packard until 2003. Tomlinson has a broad global financial and administrative background that includes expertise in controllership, tax, treasury, order fulfillment, information technology, distribution, logistics and financial strategic alliances.

eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar Not to Stand for Re-Election to PayPal Board         

Pierre Omidyar informed PayPal that he will not stand for re-election to PayPal’s Board of Directors when his current term expires. He is the founder of the eBay where he served as chairman from 1998 to 2015.

Cognizant Goes Through Board Changes              

Cognizant announced that Betsy S. Atkins and John M. Dineen have been elected to its Board as new independent directors. Atkins has been the CEO of venture capital firm Baja and was previously Chairman and CEO of Clear Standards. 

Dineen previously served as CEO of GE Healthcare and held a number of senior executive roles in his 28 year career at General Electric. Since January 2015, he has served as Operating Advisor at private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.

Cognizant also announced that Lakshmi Narayanan and Thomas M. Wendel will not be seeking re-election.  Narayanan has served as a Board member since 2003 and Wendel has served as a member of the Board since 2001.

Infosys Appoints Independent Director Ravi Venkatesan as the Co-Chairman of the Board         

Infosys appointed Ravi Venkatesan, Independent Director as the Co-Chairman of the Board. Venkatesan is the Chairman of the Board at Bank of Baroda. He is also the founder Chairman of Social Venture Partners India, a partner at Unitus Seed Fund and a fund advisor at Kalaari Capital. Ravi serves on the boards of Rockefeller Foundation and several advisory boards. Prior to this, he was Chairman of Microsoft India between 2004 and 2011. Ravi has served on the boards of Harvard Business School, AB Volvo, Bunge, and Thermax.

Nokia Changes Organizational Structure; Brings Changes to Group Leadership Team

Nokia announced changes in its organizational structure and Group Leadership Team (GLT). The organizational changes include the separation of Nokia's current Mobile Networks business group into two distinct, but closely linked organizations: one focused on products and solutions, called Mobile Networks, and the other on services, called Global Services.

The company also announced that Marc Rouanne, currently Chief Innovation and Operating Officer, will become President of the Mobile Networks business group, responsible for mobile products and solutions, including 4G, 5G, cloud core, small cells and other advanced mobile solutions. Rouanne will remain on the GLT.

Igor Leprince, currently EVP of Global Services, will take the role of President of Global Services, a new business group comprised of the Services organization that currently resides within the existing Mobile Networks business group, including company-wide managed services. Leprince will join the GLT as a new member.

Monika Maurer, currently COO of Fixed Networks, will assume the position of Group COO, responsible for Nokia's operating model, Global Operations (manufacturing and supply chain), procurement, implementation of cost saving and ongoing transformation activities, information technology, real estate, and quality. Maurer will join the GLT as a new member.

Marcus Weldon, currently President of Nokia Bell Labs and CTO, will retain those responsibilities and join the GLT as a new member.

Kathrin Buvac, Chief Strategy Officer, will assume additional responsibilities for incubation of select new business opportunities, and Barry French, Chief Marketing Officer, will assume additional responsibilities for Health, Safety, Security and Environment. They will both remain on the GLT.

With the integration of Alcatel-Lucent largely complete, Samih Elhage has decided to leave Nokia to pursue new opportunities.

Ericsson Simplifies Organizational Structure; Witnesses Leadership Shuffles

In line with the business strategy, Ericsson is simplifying its organizational structure by removing the two-tiered leadership structure, Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team, and forming a single Executive Team. In addition, the geographical setup with ten regions will become five market areas, and the business areas are re-defined and reduced to three.

Per Borgklint, Anders Lindblad, Jean-Philippe Poirault and Charlotta Sund will leave the executive leadership team.

Ericsson appointed Nunzio Mirtillo as head of market area South East Asia, Oceania and India.

Rafiah Ibrahim named as President and Head of the newly created Market Area Middle East and Africa. The appointment follows a review of the Ericsson's business strategy and changes to the Executive team. Ibrahim, who has led Region Middle East since July 2014, stepped into the role from April 2017 as a new member of Ericsson's Executive Team. The newly-created Market Area was formed by merging the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa regions, in a move to revitalize technology and market leadership and enable customer success.

Paychex Director Pamela A. Joseph ResignsPamela A. Joseph

Pamela A. Joseph, 57, notified Paychex of her resignation from the Company's Board of Directors. Joseph has been a member of the Board since 2005. Joseph has been the President and COO of Total System Services since May 2016.

Expedia Elects Chelsea Clinton as Director 

Expedia expanded the size of the Board from thirteen to fourteen members and elected Chelsea Clinton to fill the newly-created directorship. Clinton currently serves as Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation where her work emphasizes improving global and domestic health, creating service opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders. She has previously worked as an associate at McKinsey and as an Assistant Vice Provost at New York University, where she focused on interfaith initiatives and the university’s Global Expansion Program.

Red Hat Appoints Acting CFO to Permanent Finance Chief Role               

Red Hat announced that Eric Shander has been named the company’s EVP and CFO. As Red Hat’s CFO, Shander will be responsible for leading the company’s global finance organization. Shander most recently served as Red Hat’s acting CFO, and VP and chief accounting officer.

Capgemini Announces Management Changes  

Capgemini confirmed a number of Group leadership appointments. Jean-Philippe Bol, formerly Deputy Head of Application Services Two1 becomes Head of the Cloud Infrastructure Services Strategic Business Unit. Jean-Philippe will continue to serve on Capgemini's Group Executive Committee2 (GEC). Prior he was COO of Application Services Two in charge of all operations.

John Mullen, formerly Head of Insurance for Capgemini's Financial Services Global Business Unit, becomes Head of Application Services in North America and joins the GEC. He leads a team of professionals in the U.S., Canada and India who partner with North American clients to deliver innovative business technology solutions in Cloud and Digital, transformational change, IT and operational excellence.

John replaces Tim Bridges who is now Global Head of the Consumer Products, Retail and Distribution (CPRD) Unit. Tim was appointed Global Head of Consumer Products, Retail and Distribution (CPRD) in January 2017. Prior to this he headed up Capgemini's Application Services in North America.

Cyril Garcia becomes Head of Digital Services for the Group, replacing Dee Burger who will now lead the Digital practice for Application Services in North America reporting to John Mullen. Cyril retains responsibility for the Capgemini Consulting Strategic Business Unit and his place on the GEC. Cyril was appointed head of Digital Services for the Capgemini Group in March 2017. He has also been Head of Capgemini Consulting since January 2015, the global strategy and transformation consulting arm of the Group, and has been a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2010. From 2013, Cyril held roles heading up Capgemini Consulting in France and in Spain.

Finally, Christine Hodgson has been appointed head of Group Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) and joins the GEC. In this strategic position for the Group, Christine will chair the Capgemini CSR board and will report to Hubert Giraud, Group Executive Board member. Christine also retains her UK country board chairwoman role. Christine has worked at Capgemini for 19 years in a number of UK and Global roles including CEO for Technology Services in North West Europe, and CFO for both Capgemini UK Plc and the Global Outsourcing Division.

Rakuten Announces Executive Changes               

Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten appointed Kentaro Hyakuno as EVP, COO & CMO, Group EVP. He is currently Managing Executive Officer, COO & CMO, Group EVP.

Naho Kono was appointed as Managing Executive Office, E-Commerce Company President. Currently he is Senior Executive Office, E-Commerce Company President.

Yuzo Hashiya is now Insurance Company President as Executive Officer, Insurance Company President.

Kazuhiko Kasahara, Card & Payments Company, Point Partner Business Department, General Manager appointed as Executive Officer

Ryo Matsumura, E-Commerce Company Director named as Executive Officer, E-Commerce Company Director

ServiceNow Appoints New CEO as Director

ServiceNow expanded the size of the Board from ten to eleven members and appointed new President and CEO John J. Donahoe to Board.  Donahoe was appointed as a director in connection with his appointment as the Company's President and CEO.

Motorola Solutions Appoints Skype Exec as Head of Software       

Motorola Solutions announced the leader of the company’s new software organization. Andrew Sinclair, previously of the Skype division of Microsoft, joins Motorola Solutions as the company’s first-ever head of software. Sinclair will lead the company’s software organization. As head of software, Sinclair will lead an integrated team focused on development, sales and delivery of software that provides critical intelligence to public safety and commercial users.

Motorola Solutions has appointed Sirio Magliocca as General Manager and President for the Italian market. Sirio, who has been with the Motorola Solutions since 1986, leads the company's channel business in Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Malta, responsible for reseller networks, marketing and sales activity. In his role as General Manager, he will lead the development and implementation of business strategies in Italy for both government and commercial sectors.

Atos Executes Senior Management Succession Plan      

Atos announced that Charles Dehelly, 67, Atos Senior EVP, in charge of Global Operations and the TOP performance program, has decided that it is time for him to retire, after more than 8 years of service in the company. Planned and prepared a long time ago by Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO, together with Charles Dehelly, the consecutive organizational adjustments have been announced.

Eric Grall, Head of the Infrastructure and Data Management division (IDM) is succeeding Charles Dehelly as Head of Global Operations and the TOP performance program.

Peter Pluim, currently COO of the Infrastructure and Data Management division (IDM), is appointed Head of IDM, replacing Eric Grall. Peter Pluim is joining the Atos Executive Committee in this capacity. Pluim joined Atos in this capacity in September 2012, coming from a sixteen year career at IBM.

Eric Grall led the Atos Infrastructure and Data Management division of Atos for the last 8 years. Eric Grall comes from HP that he joined after his engineering degree in 1986, and where he held first positions in marketing and R&D product business, before entering the Services activities of the Group in 1998. Eric joined Atos in 2009 as EVP of the Infrastructure & Data Management division.

Twitter Director Peter Fenton Steps Down

Benchmark partner Peter Fenton, who had been on Twitter’s board since 2009, will not seek re-election to the board. Fenton has been a General Partner at Benchmark Capital since May 2006. Prior to joining Benchmark, Peter was a Managing Partner at Accel Partners, a venture capital firm, from 1999 to 2006.

Amy Chang, founder/CEO of Accompany, will not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors of Splunk. She was appointed to the Splunk board in March 2015.

The Sage Group Appoints Cath Keers as Non-Executive Director   

The Sage Group plc appointed Cath Keers to its board as a non-executive director. She was a non-executive director of Home Retail Group from September 2011 to September 2016. Keers is a non-executive director of the Royal Mail group, TalkTalk Telecom Group and Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society and is the Chairman of Ustwo. Cath Keers served as a Customer Director of 02 PLC, UK since March 2004 and served as its Marketing Director. She was also GM at BT.

SS&C Technologies Director to Leave

William A. Etherington, 75, provided notice of his intent to retire as a director of SS&C Technologies. Etherington is resigning for personal reasons and not due to any disagreement with the company. Etherington has been a Director of SS&C since 2006. He is former CEO and President of IBM World Trade Corporation.

Take-Two Interactive Software Appoints Expert on Urban Education to the Board

Video game publishing company Take-Two Interactive Software appointed LaVerne Srinivasan to the company’s Board of Directors. Tech Data CEO to Add On Chair Role        

Tech Data announced that Chairman Steven A. (Steve) Raymund has informed the board of directors that he will not stand for reelection as a board member and will retire as chairman. Tech Data CEO and board member Robert M. (Bob) Dutkowsky will be appointed chairman of the board following Raymund’s retirement, and Charles E. (Eddie) Adair will continue in his role as lead independent director. Dutkowsky joined Tech Data in October 2006 as CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors.

Silicon Labs Appoints Former Freescale CEO to its Board             

Silicon Labs reported the appointment of Gregg Lowe to the company's board of directors. Lowe brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience at Freescale Semiconductor and Texas Instruments to his Silicon Labs board position. Lowe served as President and CEO of Freescale from June 2012 until December 2015.

InterDigital Announces Board Changes

InterDigital, the company that designs and develops technologies for wireless communications, appointed Joan Gillman to the company's Board of Directors. Gillman was EVP of Time Warner Cable and President and COO of Time Warner Cable Media from 2006 until shortly after Time Warner’s acquisition by Charter Communications in May 2016.

The company also announced that longtime director Robert S. Roath will retire from the Board of Directors at the end of his current term.

Redpoint Ventures’ Partner Steps down from Board of Twilio  

Scott Raney informed that he will not stand for re-election as a member of the Board of Directors of Twilio, the cloud communications platform as a service company. Raney is a Partner with Redpoint Ventures focusing on information and consumer technology.

Verint Systems Appoints FirstRain’s Chair and Former CEO to Board        

Verint Systems appointed Penelope Herscher to the Board. Herscher has over 15 years of experience as a high-tech CEO and over 10 years serving on public company boards. Sequoia Capital’s Partner to Retire from the Board of FireEye       

William M. Coughran Jr., 63, notified FireEye of his decision to not stand for re-election to the company's Board of Directors when his current term expires at the company's next annual meeting of stockholders to be held in June 2017. Coughran has served as a member of the Board since July 2012. Coughran has been a Partner of Sequoia Capital since October 2011. Coughran focuses on early, seed and growth stage investments in technology sector. He served as SVP of Engineering at Google from 2003 to 2011.

Q2 Holdings Appoints Spredfast CFO as Board MemberLynn Atchison

Q2 Holdings added Lynn Atchison, CFO of Spredfast, to its board of directors. Atchison joined Spredfast in February 2017. Prior to Spredfast, Atchison served as the CFO of HomeAway shortly after it was acquired by Expedia. Atchison serves on the Austin Technology Council board of directors.

TrueCar Appoints Retired American Honda Motor EVP as Board Member

Automotive pricing and information website Truecar nominated John Mendel to its board of directors. Mendel recently retired from American Honda Motor Company, where he was the EVP, Automobile Division. Prior to joining American Honda, Mendel spent 28 years with Ford Motor Company and served as EVP and COO for Mazda North American Operations.

Abhishek Agrawal, board member since 2013, informed TrueCar that he will not stand for re-election to the Company’s Board of Directors.

Mindtree’s Non-Executive Vice Chairman to Retire

Dr. Albert Hieronimus will be retiring as Independent Director of Mindtree, the IT Solutions and Product Engineering Services Company. He served as a Non-Executive Vice Chairman of MindTree since April 2012 until April 2017 and served as its Non-Executive Chairman from April  2011 to April 2012.

Mimecast Appoints Kronos CEO to Board            

Cloud-based email management firm Mimecast announced Aron Ain has joined its board of directors. Ain has been CEO of Kronos since 2005. Ain has been instrumental in revolutionizing the way organizations manage their workforces with products and services designed to serve global customer needs, increase productivity, manage compliance risk, and drive employee engagement.

Jeremy Levine notified online business management software company MINDBODY of his intention to resign as a director of the Company, in order to pursue other professional endeavours.

Cognizant announced that Betsy S. Atkins has been elected to its Board as new independent directors. Atkins has been the CEO of venture capital firm Baja and was previously Chairman and CEO of Clear Standards.  

Paychex Director Pamela A. Joseph Resigns

Pamela A. Joseph, 57, notified Paychex of her resignation from the Company's Board of Directors. Joseph has been a member of the Board since 2005. Joseph has been the President and COO of Total System Services since May 2016.

Expedia Elects Chelsea Clinton as Director 

Expedia expanded the size of the Board from thirteen to fourteen members and elected Chelsea Clinton to fill the newly-created directorship. Clinton currently serves as Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation where her work emphasizes improving global and domestic health, creating service opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders. She has previously worked as an associate at McKinsey and as an Assistant Vice Provost at New York University, where she focused on interfaith initiatives and the university’s Global Expansion Program.

Amy Chang to Step Down from Splunk Board    Amy Chang

Amy Chang, founder/CEO of Accompany, will not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors of Splunk. She was appointed to the Splunk board in March 2015.

The Sage Group Appoints Cath Keers as Non-Executive Director   

The Sage Group plc appointed Cath Keers to its board as a non-executive director. She was a non-executive director of Home Retail Group from September 2011 to September 2016. Keers is a non-executive director of the Royal Mail group, TalkTalk Telecom Group and Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society and is the Chairman of Ustwo. Cath Keers served as a Customer Director of 02 PLC, UK since March 2004 and served as its Marketing Director. She was also GM at BT.

ServiceNow Appoints New CEO as Director; Appoints New Leader for India

ServiceNow expanded the size of the Board from ten to eleven members and appointed new President and CEO John J. Donahoe to Board.  Donahoe was appointed as a director in connection with his appointment as the Company's President and CEO.

ServiceNow also announced the appointment of Edgar Dias to the role of Managing Director, India. Dias joins ServiceNow from Brocade, where he led the Indian and SAARC business. Prior to Brocade, Dias worked at Juniper and Nortel Networks.

Capgemini Announces Cloud Infrastructure Services Leadership Appointment        

Capgemini confirmed a number of Group leadership appointments. Jean-Philippe Bol, formerly Deputy Head of Application Services Two1 becomes Head of the Cloud Infrastructure Services Strategic Business Unit. Prior to this, from January 2016, he served as Deputy Head of the Application Services Two (which covers France, Benelux, Nordics, Germany and Central Europe, and Southern Europe). Between 2014 and 2016 Jean-Philippe was COO of Application Services Two in charge of all operations.

Derrell James was appointed as SVP of professional services. Derrell brings more than 30 years of services experience at major technology companies and has held many senior leadership positions at various companies including Perot Systems, EMC, ACS, and most recently Avaya.  At Avaya, James served as SVP of global strategic services, where he was responsible for a nearly $2 billion line of business.

Endurance International Group Announces CEO Transition Plan; Chief Product Officer Leaves    

Endurance International Group announced that its Board of Directors and its CEO Hari Ravichandran have adopted a CEO transition plan. Ravichandran will remain CEO and serve as a Board member while the company conducts a search to identify his successor.

Kenneth Surdan informed of his intention to resign from his position as the Company's Chief Product Officer. The effective date of Surdan's resignation has not been determined yet, but is expected to be in July 2017.

Carbonite Announces Board ChangesMarina Levinson

Carbonite, cloud and hybrid backup service provider, announced the election of Marina Levinson, with more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience, as new member of its Board of Directors. Levinson will hold office until 2020, succeeding Jeff Flowers, who co-founded Carbonite in 2005 and retired from the Board after 12 years of service. After serving as the CIO of NetApp and Palm, Levinson founded and is the CEO of CIO Advisory Group.

Zurich Insurance Group announced that its board has elected Bank of America's Chief Operations and Technology Officer Cathy Bessant as a director. In her role at Bank of America, Bessant oversees about 95,000 employees and contractors in 35 countries in the bank's global technology and operations group. Bessant previously chaired the Charlotte Chamber and the Foundation For The Carolinas.

 

Hilton Appoints Former GE CIO as Newest Director          

Hilton announced that Charlene T. Begley, former SVP and CIO at GE and CEO of GE’s Home and Business Solutions segment, has been appointed to its board of directors. Begley held various executive management positions at GE from 1988 through 2013. Silvercar CEO Joins Plug Power Board of Directors  Luke Schneider

Plug Power, the leader in delivering hydrogen and fuel cell solutions, has elected Luke Schneider to its Board of Directors. Currently, Schneider serves as the CEO of Silvercar, an Austin, TX-based start-up that has built a technology platform for a new breed of rental car business and other vehicle mobility applications. Conifer Health Solutions Appoints Chief Compliance Officer

Conifer Health Solutions announced that Daniel Feldman has joined its senior leadership team as SVP and chief compliance officer. Prior to joining Conifer Health, Feldman held various leadership positions at Dean Foods Co. in Dallas, serving most recently as VP, chief litigation counsel and chief compliance officer.

Allscripts Promotes Strategic Initiatives SVP to Interim CFO Role  

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions announced that Dennis M. Olis has been named interim CFO. Since November, 2016, Olis has served as Allscripts SVP, Strategic Initiatives and from November 2012 until November 2016, was the Company’s SVP, Operations. Prior to joining Allscripts in 2012, Olis worked for over 25 years in various finance roles at Motorola, most recently as Corporate VP Finance Operations of Motorola Mobility and before that as Corporate VP of Finance, Research & Development, Portfolio Management and Planning at Motorola.

Quality Systems Announces COO Changes; Sees Changes at Subsidiary NextGen Healthcare Information Systems As WellDaniel J. Morefield

Daniel J. Morefield tendered his resignation from his position as Quality Systems' EVP and COO and subsidiary NextGen Healthcare Information Systems' COO. Morefield has served as a member of the company's executive team since 2012. The Board appointed Scott E. Bostick to succeed Morefield as EVP and COO of the company. Bostick joined the company in March 2016 as the Chief Client Officer. Previously, Bostick served as the SVP at CareFusion from 2009 to 2015.

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems reported that Allen Plunk recently joined NextGen as SVP, RCM Operations. With this addition, Morefield will now exit the organization and move on to his next challenge. Scott Bostick will assume the role of COO adding Revenue Cycle Operations to his current responsibilities, leading the Client Success organization - comprised of Sales, Marketing, Service, and Implementation. Bostick joined NextGen as EVP, Chief Client Officer early in calendar year 2016. Before joining NextGen, he served as the SVP the America's Commercial Organization for CareFusion, 2009-2015.

OptumInsight Get New CEO

UnitedHealth announced that Eric Murphy has been named CEO of OptumInsight. He was previously enterprise growth officer for Optum. Murphy succeeds Bill Miller.

Inovalon CTO Steps Down

Joseph R. Rostock’s employment as the CTO of Inovalon Holdings, the provider of cloud-based platforms to the healthcare industry, ended. Rostock will remain an employee of the company through May 2017 to assist in the transition of his functions to members of the company’s Technology Department.

Emis Group Announces New CEO   

UK based healthcare software firm EMIS Group announced that Andy Thorburn will join the company as CEO. This follows the announcement in December 2016 of the intention of Chris Spencer, current CEO, to retire from the board during 2017.

Andy has an excellent track record of achievement in his previous roles, both in the UK and overseas. He has recently returned to the UK after 4 years working for Digicel, latterly as the Group COO. He was previously CEO of Digicel Caribbean and Central America and CEO of Digicel Jamaica. Prior to joining Digicel Andy had over 16 years' experience in the software industry having had senior management roles at INTEC, Chronicle Solutions and a number of Benchmark Capital Portfolio companies. Andy was also a Managing Director within BT Group.

Cognosante Appoints Multiple Senior Leaders          

Cognosante, a provider of healthcare consulting, technology solutions, and business process outsourcing services, named Alex Cobey as Chief Legal Officer. Prior to joining Cognosante, Cobey was a Partner at the law firm of Hogan Lovells, where he spent almost twenty years in the firm's corporate department.

Steve Schliesman joined as VP & General Manager, Military & Veterans Health. Before joining Cognosante, Steve was the Deputy Director, DoD/VA Interagency Program Office.

Cognosante appointed Mustafa El Rafey as Chief People Officer. Prior to joining Cognosante, Mustafa held various HR and corporate leadership roles with world class consumer goods, retail, and e-commerce companies. As the global Head of Talent Management at Mars, Starbucks, and QVC, Mustafa designed and led high impact organization and human capital solutions to enhance employee experience, and develop organization capability and performance.

Orion Health Group Appoints CFO and Global Sales Leader

Orion Health Group, the New Zealand based global healthcare platform advancing integration, population health management and precision medicine, appointed Mark Tisdel as its CFO. Currently, Tisdel serves at Model N as its CFO.  Previously, he worked for Steelwedge Software, Spigit, Selectica, Riverstone Networks, PeopleSoft, WarpSpeed Communications, GTE Mobilnet, Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co LLP and Kay Bee Toys.

Orion Health appointed its new EVP for Global Sales, Marketing, and Strategy, Teri Thomas. While currently US-based, she will be moving to New Zealand to take up the role.

Press Ganey Appoints Associate Chief Nursing OfficerDr. Mary Jo Assi

Healthcare performance improvement solutions provider Press Ganey announced that Dr. Mary Jo Assi has joined its executive team as Associate Chief Nursing Officer. Assi joins Press Ganey from the American Nurses Association (ANA) where she was the VP of Nursing Practice and Innovation.

NantHealth Appoints COO from BlackBerry; Names New Chief Medical Officer

Evidence-based personalized healthcare company NantHealth appointed Ronald A. Louks as its COO. Prior to joining the company, Louks served as president of Devices & Emerging Solutions at BlackBerry. Earlier, Louks served as CEO of the OpenNMS Group. He held a number of senior leadership positions at Sony Ericsson, most recently serving as its CTO.

NantHealth appointed Sandeep (Bobby) Reddy, MD, as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Reddy joined NantHealth in December of 2016 as Senior Executive Director of Medical Affairs and prior to that position, he served as Chief Medical Officer at Caris Life Sciences.

Imprivata Appoints FireEye VP as New VP Sales International        

Imprivata appointed Adam Bangle as VP Sales International. With a wealth of experience in the security sector, Adam will spearhead Imprivata's growth strategy in Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific markets, focusing on building and expanding current field sales operations. He has over 25 years' experience in sales, business development, and management gained from a variety of roles including VP Sales, Fraud and Risk Intelligence at RSA and VP EMEA at Splunk. Adam joins Imprivata most recently from FireEye where he held the role of VP.

AdvancedMD Appoints CFO from inContact

AdvancedMD welcomed Greg Ayers to the company's leadership team as CFO. Ayers joins AdvancedMD after eight years at inContact, where he served as CFO, playing an instrumental role in the company's recent acquisition by NICE Systems. Ayers was named Utah Business CFO of the year in 2010.

Redbrick Health Appoints Gary Smithson as Chief Medical Officer 

Health engagement and behavior change technology company RedBrick Health announced that Gary Smithson, M.D., has joined its leadership team as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Smithson is a board-certified pediatrician and accomplished health care executive with over 30 years of business and clinical experience. Dr. Smithson has previously served as senior consultant at both Willis Towers Watson and Deloitte Consulting. He brings expertise in collaborative provider-focused care models, including accountable care organizations and patient-centered medical homes.

Castlight Health Announces Board and Executive Changes after Jiff Acquisition    

Health benefits platform Castlight Health announced that it has completed its acquisition of Jiff to create the most comprehensive health benefits platform in the industry. As previously announced, a number of management and board of director changes became effective with the completion of the transaction. John Doyle assumed the role of CEO, and former Jiff CEO Derek Newell was named president.

Castlight Health co-founder Giovanni Colella transition from CEO to executive chairman of the board, and John Doyle, Derek Newell and Jiff co-founder James Currier were appointed to the board. Additionally, Ann Lamont stepped down from the board.

Priya Jain, the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Castlight Health will resign from the company in order to pursue another professional opportunity. Jain also served as the company’s principal accounting officer. Siobhan Nolan Mangini, the company’s CFO, was appointed principal accounting officer, effective upon Jain’s departure.

Connecture Names Aesynt CEO Kraig McEwen to Board   Kraig McEwen 

Kraig McEwen was appointed to the board of directors of Connecture, provides the web-based sales, service, and process automation solutions provider to the health insurance industry. McEwen serves as the CEO and Director at Aesynt (Mckesson Autuomation.), a subsidiary Mckesson Provider Technologies.

Practice Fusion Appoints Former Allscripts Exec as New Chief Marketing Officer 

Practice Fusion announced that Bevey Miner has joined the company's executive team as CMO. Miner has more than 20 years of health IT experience from senior executive roles. While at Allscripts, Miner was executive director of the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative (NEPSI), a free ePrescribing solution that was sponsored by Google, Microsoft, Dell, Anthem and Aetna.

MDLive Appoints Medical Group President 

MDLive reported Dr. Richard Gilbert has been appointed President of the company's Medical Group. Dr. Gilbert will be responsible for all aspects of clinical leadership, strategy, structure and operations. Prior to MDLive, Dr. Gilbert served as the Chief Medical Officer of Mednax. He also essayed CEO roles with Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, Southeast Pain Care (founder) and Quantum (founder).

GE Witnesses Leadership Switches in TechnologyMonica Caldas

Monica Caldas, currently CIO for GE Transportation’s global services and digital solutions teams, will take over as CIO for the entire unit. GE Transportation’s CIO Nancy Anderson moved to the CIO role at GE Power.

Procter and Gamble Announces CIO Changes

Procter and Gamble has appointed Javier Polit as CIO. Polit joins PandG from the Coca-Cola, where he served as CIO of the company's bottling investments group for more than a decade. He succeeds Linda Clement-Holmes, who is retiring after 35 years of service.

Verizon Announces New Operating Structure; Announces Management Changes   

Verizon announced a new operating structure focused on three areas: Media and Telematics, Network and Technology, and Customer and Product Operations. As part of this structure, effective April 3, 2017 the company has hired Hans Vestberg, former CEO of Ericsson, as EVP for Verizon's new Network and Technology team.

Marni Walden will be EVP for Media and Telematics and John Stratton will be EVP for Customer and Product Operations. Walden will continue to lead Verizon's integration and expansion of its telematics (connected car and fleet management) portfolio, through acquisitions of Hughes Telematics, Fleetmatics and Telogis.

The Customer and Product Operations includes Verizon Wireless, Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Verizon Partner Solutions, Verizon Consumer Markets and Verizon Business Markets. Stratton will focus on growing these core businesses, while accelerating Verizon's shift toward a digital-first model. Stratton will also lead operations and sales for the Internet of Things products and services, including smart communities.

Intel Announces Executive Promotions         

Intel Corporation announced that Diane Bryant, Murthy Renduchintala and Stacy Smith have been promoted to Group Presidents and Renduchintala has been appointed chief engineering officer. Bryant has been named Group President of the Data Center Group (DCG). She has been leading DCG since 2012 and is responsible for the group's P&L, strategy and product development.

Renduchintala has been named Group President, Client and Internet of Things Business & Systems Architecture Group (CISA), and appointed chief engineering officer.

Smith has been named Group President of Manufacturing, Operations and Sales. He has overseen the company's global Technology and Manufacturing Group and its worldwide sales organization since last fall.

IBM Appoints New CIO and New Chief Digital Officer for IndiaSouth Asia           

VP, IT Fletcher Previn has been named CIO, replacing CIO Jeff Smith. In his previous role Fletcher had responsibility for the desktop computing environment (Windows, Mac, Linux), the employee mobility program at IBM, the IBM intranet, and the Mac, PC, and Box@IBM programs. Before joining the office of the CIO, he led a development team in IBM Sales & Distribution. Prior to joining IBM in 2006, Fletcher managed the Enterprise Systems Group at Walmart.com.

IBM has appointed Nipun Mehrotra as chief digital officer for IndiaSouth Asia, and the appointment comes with months of Bob Lord, IBM's first ever chief digital officer, being charged with bringing together the digital business group (DBG). Over the past two years, as the VP for strategy growth initiatives, Mehrotra led IBM's transformational strategy across several areas in Asia & India.

Mastercard’s CIO Promoted to President, Operations and Technology

Mastercard has appointed Ed McLaughlin to President, Operations and Technology. McLaughlin succeeds Rob Reeg, who will move to a consulting role. In this role, McLaughlin will oversee all of Mastercard's technology functions, including the global network, processing platforms, information security and technology operations. For the past 16 months, McLaughlin has served as the company's CIO, directing the development efforts for products and services, implementing the IT digital roadmap, and managing the development of Mastercard's global tech hubs.

SAP Cloud Platform President Named CTO 

SAP Cloud Platform President Bjoern Goerke has been named as new CTO. As CTO, Goerke will advance the company's technology strategy and serve as a key external spokesperson.

UPS Names Juan Perez as Chief Information and Engineering Officer    Juan Perez    

UPS named Juan Perez as Chief Information and Engineering Officer. Appointed in March 2016 to the position of CIO, Perez has proven to be a change agent for the organization throughout his 27 years with the company, finding new ways to quickly put technology and engineering into action. Perez also worked with the IT team that developed the On-Road Integrated Optimization and Navigation (ORION) system used by UPS operations to optimize delivery routes to improve service and efficiency.

Qualcomm Goes through CTO Shuflle

Qualcomm announced that Dr. James H. Thompson, EVP of engineering, Qualcomm Technologies, has been appointed to the additional position of CTO. Matt Grob, EVP, Qualcomm Technologies and CTO, will transition to the role of EVP of technology, Qualcomm Technologies.

In addition to leading QCT engineering, as CTO, Thompson will align the companywide technical and product roadmaps across all business areas. He also will have oversight of Corporate R&D and Corporate Engineering.

21st Century Fox Hires Global CISO from Palantir Technologies     

21st Century Fox named Melody Hildebrandt to the role of Global CISO. In this role, she will oversee the protection and risk management for enterprise communications, technologies and assets for 21CF. She joins the company from Palantir Technologies, where she served as EVP and directed the cybersecurity practice.

Phillips 66 Names New Chief Digital and Administrative Officer     

Phillips 66 hired Zhanna Golodryga as SVP and chief digital and administrative officer. Golodryga recently worked as CIO and SVP of services at Hess Corp. She has more than three decades experience in the energy industry.

State Street Announces Technology Executive Appointments          

State Street Corporation named Ravi Arimilli and Pinar Emirdag as SVPs (SVP) within its Global Technology Services group and Kirk Wylie was named SVP and principal risk architect. Most recently Arimilli was at IBM as an IBM Fellow and the chief architect for analytics, big data and block-chain platforms.

Emirdag has joined the company as SVP and head of digital product development. In this role she will oversee the management of crypto and digital currencies and assets, block-chain products and will support the development of new business product opportunities in the company's business lines.

Wylie is the founder of Open Gamma, a derivatives risk software startup launched in 2009, bringing Open Source market risk software to markets and developing proprietary offerings. He will be in charge of technologies employed to standardise risk calculations, hardware acceleration and software deployments appropriate for on-demand, real-time risk analytics.

Lam Research Appoints New Corporate CTO          

Richard A. Gottscho, formerly EVP, Global Products, assumed the position of EVP and Corporate CTO of Lam Research Corporation.

VF Corporation Announces New CIO as Last CIO Retires   

VF Corporation announced that Martin Schneider, VP & CIO will retire at the end of 2017. Sandra Harris, VP, Global Business Technology, will succeed Schneider as VP & CIO. Harris, an eight-year veteran of VF, previously served as VP & CFO, Global Supply Chain, Shared Services, and Direct-to-Consumer for VF.

NTT DATA Appoints CTO for Public Sector

NTT DATA announced it has named Shamlan Siddiqi as CTO of the company’s public sector group. Siddiqi will define and lead the group’s technology, advisory and innovation vision and strategy, supporting its efforts to improve agency outcomes through pragmatic innovations and focused services.

CenturyLink Announces Senior Tech Leadership after Level 3 Acquisition

CenturyLink announced the senior leadership team that will report to Glen F. Post III, chief executive officer and president effective at the time of closing of the company's acquisition of Level 3 Communications Aamir Hussain, EVP, CTO and network operations, who will be responsible for product development, platforms and infrastructure and information technology. Girish Varma, EVP, IT and managed services, who will be responsible for technology/strategic consulting, big data, managed security services and managed hosting.

Fortis Promotes its Alberta CEO as CIO       

Fortis named Phonse Delaney as EVP, CIO. Phonse served most recently as President and CEO of Fortis Alberta. Prior to that appointment in 2014, he held the position of EVP, Operations, Engineering and IT of Fortis Alberta, a position he held since 2008.

Levi Strauss Appoints CIO from Within Ranks

Chris Clark, global supply chain and business intelligence groups leader, was promoted to SVP and CIO, replacing Roland Paanakker, at Levi Strauss.

Severstal Names SAP Exec as New CIO       

Severstal, a Russian company mainly operating in the steel and mining industry, appointed Sergey Dunaev as CIO of AO Severstal Management and Chief Executive Officer of OAO Severstal Infocom. Sergey Dunaev has worked at SAP SE since October 2014.

Flex Names Qualcomm Exec as CTO and SVP of the Cloud Business Unit

Flex announced Dr. Kevin Kettler has joined the company as CTO and SVP of the Cloud Business Unit, which is part of the Communications and Enterprise Compute (CEC) business group at Flex. Dr. Kevin Kettler is a seasoned industry expert with more than 25 years of experience working across the server, storage and compute market segments, among others. Most recently, Dr. Kettler was a full time consultant in Qualcomm's new datacenter business unit.

Broadcom Exec Neil Kim Joins Marvell Technology as CTO           

Marvell Technology Group announced that Neil Kim has joined the company as its CTO. Prior to joining the company, Kim served as Broadcom's EVP of Operations and Central Engineering. Prior to joining Broadcom in 2000, Neil was VP of Engineering at Western Digital Corporation.

J Sainsbury plc Appoints Phil Jordan as Group CIO  

J Sainsbury plc appointed Phil Jordan as Group CIO. He will join the business in January 2018 and will be a member of Sainsbury's Operating Board. Phil Jordan joins from Telefonica where he was Global CIO and previously European CIO.

News Corporation Announces Tech Exec Changes   

News Corp. announced that Marc Frons has been appointed CTO. He has served in that role in an interim capacity since October 2016. Latha Maripuri, who currently serves as News Corp’s CISO, and Christina Scott, CTO for News UK, have both been promoted to Deputy CTO positions, while retaining their existing responsibilities. Marc Frons joined News Corp. in 2015 as SVP and Global Head of Mobile Platform and Deputy Head of Technology.

KAR Auction Services Announces Thomas Fisher as EVP and CIO 

KAR Auction Services announced that Thomas Fisher has joined the company as EVP and CIO. Fisher brings two decades of customer-focused technology strategy, operations, sales and product development experience to KAR. Working across KAR's end-to-end remarketing platform, Fisher will design and implement an enterprise strategy that leverages KAR's diverse technology assets to rapidly deploy the company's data-driven customer insights and product solutions.

Nokian Tyres Announces New CIO  

Nokian Tyres plc announced that Frans Westerlund has been appointed VP, CIO and Processes. Westerlund, 50, will join Nokian Tyres from Fiskars Corporation where he is currently SVP, CIO, Head of Business Processes & IT.

Staples Appoints CISO from Hewlett-Packard EnterpriseBrett Wahlin

Staples announced Brett Wahlin has been appointed to the role of CISO. Wahlin joins Staples from Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he served as VP and CISO.

Metso Corporation Appoints Vesa Erolainen as CIO 

Vesa Erolainen has been appointed the CIO of Metso, the industrial equipment and services company. He has a long and successful career within information technology, latest serving as the CIO of Pöyry and before that in CIO and other IT Leadership positions in Myllykoski and UPM. Metso's previous CIO Pirkka Penttinen is leaving Metso on his own initiative.

Hiscox Group Appoints Barclays’ CTO as New CIO

Hiscox appointed Ian Penny as CIO for the Hiscox Group. Ian is currently CTO at Barclays, where he is responsible for the group's IT infrastructure development and has led the bank's cloud computing initiatives for three years.

Bombardier Appoints Jeff Hutchinson as CIO          

Bombardier reported the appointment of Jeff Hutchinson as CIO. Hutchinson has more than 30 years of experience leading and transforming IT organizations at large, matrixed companies including Honeywell, Maple Leaf Foods, SAP and Danone/Dannon.

Vallourec Appoints New Digital Chief
            from within Ranks

Premium tubular solutions company Vallourec named Barthélémy Longueville to the position of Chief Digital Officer. As the group puts its transformation plan into action, the CDO's task will be to steer Vallourec's digital strategy. Barthélémy Longueville joined Vallourec in 2006.

Hilltop Holdings Names Toby Pennycuff as CIO     

Financial holding company Hilltop Holdings appointed Toby Pennycuff, former head of IT at Essex Property Trust, as its new CIO. He will work closely with IT leaders across the company’s subsidiaries as he oversees day-to-day IT functions to support the operations needs of Hilltop’s four business units: banking, mortgage origination, financial advisory, and insurance.

RH Appoints CTO and President of RH Digital Innovations           

Retailer RH appointed Prakash Muppirala as CTO and President of RH Digital Innovations. Prior to joining RH, Muppirala served as SVP, Global e-Commerce at Staples.

Magyar Telekom Appoints New Chief Technology and IT Officer   

Hungarian telecommunications company Magyar Telekom announced that Dr. Kim Kyllesbech Larsen, the new Chief Technology and IT Officer of the company. Dr. Larsen, 52, joins the Company from Deutsche Telekom, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President - Technology Economics & Transformation as well as Technology Architecture & Innovation.

Qualys Appoints Mark Butler as CISO          

Qualys, a provider of cloud security, compliance and related services, appointed Mark Butler, a former Fiserv executive, as CISO. Butler will serve as Qualys' lead CISO evangelist. Prior to Fiserv, Butler held roles in global security consulting, independent technical research and comprehensive assessment services as well as several foundational security roles at H&R Block.

John Allspaw, CTO, will be leaving the company and Mike Brittain, VP of Engineering, will be named interim CTO.

Cardtronics Appoints CISO from Bank of America   

Cardtronics announced Dan Antilley has been named its new CISO. Antilley will join Cardtronics from Bank of America, where he served as SVP, Global Information Security Operations Executive.

Vonage Names Hosting.com Exec as CISO 

VoIP service & cloud unified communications company Vonage has appointed Johan Hybinette as the Company's CISO. Most recently, he served as CISO at Hosting.com, a major international managed cloud provider, where he managed the company's vast portfolio of compliance certifications and led the organization's risk and compliance transformation to improve overall efficiency and communications. Prior to Hosting.com, he held both CISO and CTO roles at Schryver Medical.

Progress Appoints Dmitri Tcherevik as CTO 

Progress appointed Dmitri Tcherevik to the role of CTO. In his new role, Dmitri will lead Progress’ technology vision, strategy and evolution across the entire portfolio of Progress products. This includes driving incubation projects, contributing to product roadmaps, working on technology M&A and partnership opportunities. Dmitri will also evangelize the company’s core product strategy and cognitive-first perspectives to the market.

WestJet Appoints CIO from Southwest AirlinesCraig Maccubbin

WestJet announced that Craig Maccubbin has been named EVP and CIO. Craig joins WestJet from Southwest Airlines, where he was most recently the CTO. During his 25-year career, Craig has held a number of leadership positions, including CIO for organizations such as Spirit Airlines, LasVegas.com and Black Entertainment Television.

Denny’s Taps New CIO from within Industry

Full-service restaurant chain Denny’s Corporation appointed Michael Furlow as SVP of IT and CIO. Prior to joining Denny’s, Furlow served as CIO for Red Robin Gourmet Burgers from October 2015 to April 2017, where he helped improve the company’s business model and environments with effective technology tactics and execution. He previously spent four years as SVP of IT and CIO at CEC Entertainment.

VASCO Data Security International Appoints Jeff Cole as CIO        

VASCO Data Security International appointed Jeff Cole to the position of CIO. Cole has held senior management positions at leading companies in the technology field and most recently served as Senior Director Information Management for CareerBuilder. Prior to CareerBuilder, Cole held various management positions for Discover Financial Services rising through a series of roles with increasing responsibility.

NASA's Chief Cyber Leader Departs

Jeannette Hanna-Ruiz, the space agency’s associate CIO for IT security and senior agency information security official, is leaving after only eight months in the role. Michael Witt, who joined NASA in February 2017, will become acting senior agency information security officer, replacing Jeanette Hanna-Ruiz.
