PNC Financial Services Group Promotes CTO as Chief Security Officer and Chief Information SecurityDeborah Guild

PNC Financial Services Group appointed Deborah Guild as chief security officer and chief information security, leading the initiative. Guild joined PNC in 2013 as CTO. Previously, Guild worked for Bank of America for 21 years, most recently as CTO of enterprise functions and end-user computing. She had also been a senior network engineer at Intel.

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Appoints Lynwen Connick as CISO     

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group announced it has appointed Lynwen Connick as its CISO, reporting to Group Executive Technology, Gerard Florian. Ms. Connick joins ANZ from the Australian Government where she delivered the new National Cyber Security Strategy in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Prior to this she was CISO for the Department of Defence following a distinguished 25 year career with the Australian Signals Directorate, most recently serving as Deputy Director and First Assistant Secretary Capability.

Delta Air Lines Appoints CISO from Freddie Mac    

Delta Air Lines appointed Deborah Wheeler as CISO. Over the past 12 years she served as the CISO at Fifth Third Bank, Ally Financial and, most recently, Freddie Mac. Debbie has also held information security leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and PNC Bank.

Alaska Airlines Hires CIO From IBM

Alaska Airlines board of directors named Charu Jain as VP and CIO of Alaska Airlines. Jain comes to the airline from IBM Global Business Services, where she led the team helping American Airlines integrate its IT systems.

Iron Mountain Taps CTO from Dell EMC    Fidelma Russo

Iron Mountain has appointed Fidelma Russo as its CTO. In her most recent role, Russo led Dell EMC's Enterprise Storage and Software Solutions team.

MSCI Promotes Analytics Leader as Global Head of Research and Product Development

Investment research firm MSCI named Peter Zangari, who has headed the Analytics product line since February 2015, as Global Head of Research and Product Development. Prior to serving as Head of Analytics, Zangari served as Head of Equity Analytics from August 2011 until February 2015. He joined MSCI in 2011 from Goldman Sachs Asset Management. 

 J.D. Power Exec Joins JetBlue as IT Technology & Integration VP

JetBlue appointed Ramki Ramaswamy as the carrier’s new VP, IT Technology & Integration. Ramaswamy comes to JetBlue from J.D. Power, where he served as VP, Application Development since 2012. Prior to J.D. Power, he was Senior Director of Application Development at Standard & Poor’s.

Telekom Malaysia Promotes Veteran Tech Exec as Chief Technology and Innovation Officer

Telekom Malaysia’s deputy chief technology and innovation officer (CTIO) Datuk Rafaai Samsi has been promoted to CTIO, replacing Giorgio Migliarina who resigned. Rafaai is also TM chief customer experience officer. He was appointed CEO of TM-NTT Communications’ joint venture company in July 1997 before returning to TM in July 2001.

The Weir Group Appoints Former Intel and Cisco Exec as CTO      

The Weir Group, the provider of engineered solutions for industrial markets, has appointed Geetha Dabir to its Group Executive in the new position of CTO. An electrical and software engineer, Geetha has held a number of leadership roles with Intel and Cisco and brings a wealth of electrical and digital experience which will support Weir's technology strategy.

Nutanix Names Wendy M. Pfeiffer as CIO   

Enterprise cloud company Nutanix appointed Wendy M. Pfeiffer, former VP of IT at GoPro, as CIO. Pfeiffer joins Nutanix following a successful career leading technology teams for high-profile industry-makers.

Taishin Financial Announces CIO Changes     

Taiwan based Taishin Financial Holding announced the resignation of BR Ho, EVP of Taishin Financial Holding Company as CIO and appointed Steve Sun, VP of Taishin Bank as CIO.

Blackbaud Promotes Todd Lant as CIO        

Blackbaud announced the promotion of VP, IT Todd Lant to CIO. This move recognizes Todds contributions to Blackbaud over the last 13 years, as a leader supporting the company through significant growth, both organically and through acquisitions. Since joining in 2003, Lant has led his team through many noteworthy accomplishments, including the development of Blackbaud's first long-term IT strategy, numerous important cybersecurity enhancements, and solution integrations for company acquisitions such as Target Analytics, Whipple Hill and MicroEdge.

Ellie Mae Appoints CIO from Hitachi Data SystemsJohn Abel

Ellie Mae reported that John Abel has joined the company as SVP and CIO. Prior to joining the company, Abel was SVP of IT at Hitachi Data Systems where he helped drive the transformation from a hardware-selling company to enable growth in cloud-based software and solutions. Before Hitachi Data Systems, Abel held roles at Symantec, JDS Uniphase, KPMG Consulting and British Nuclear Fuels.

Papa John’s International Names Chief Information and Digital Officer      

Papa John’s International has announced Mike Nettles as SVP, Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO), has joined its growing pizza family. With over 27 years of proven business and technology leadership in the hospitality and retail sectors, Nettles joins Papa John’s after most recently serving as VP of Enterprise Architecture and IT Strategy at Panera Bread Company. Prior to Panera, Nettles served as the CTO at DiningIn.  He also held positions with Torex, Brinker International, NeoStar Retail Group and was the Founder and Principal of Red Chair Ventures.

Diebold Nixdorf Appoints Murat Ekinci as CIO       

Financial self-service, security and services company Diebold Nixdorf appointed Murat Ekinci as CIO. In his new role, Ekinci will be responsible for leading and overseeing Diebold Nixdorf's corporate information technology organization. Most recently, Ekinci served as EVP for managed services at Freudenberg IT.

Magyar Telekom Appoints Chief Technology and IT Officer           

Magyar Telekom appointed Dr. Kim Kyllesbech Larsen as chief technology and IT Officer. Dr. Larsen joined the company from Deutsche Telekom, where he most recently served as SVP ­ Technology Economics & Transformation as well as Technology Architecture & Innovation. Prior to this, he acted as Ooredoo Group's director of Network Technology Office and CTIO in Myanmar.

FTI Consulting Appoints Chief Product Officer of its Technology Segment

Global business advisory firm FTI Consulting appointed Skip Walter as Chief Product Officer for the firm’s Technology segment. Walter will lead the design and development of FTI Technology software products, including the award-winning Ringtail e-discovery software platform and Radiance early case assessment software. Prior to joining FTI Technology, he was the founding CEO and CTO at Attenex, which was acquired by FTI Consulting in 2008.

Agero Hires Chief Digital Officer from Cimpress

Bernie Gracy, former SVP, Global Product Technology and Merchant Services, Cimpress, has been named Chief Digital Officer for the $1b connected car company, Agero. Prior to Cimpress, he served as VP Strategy, Digital Commerce Solutions at Pitney Bowes. Before joining Pitney Bowes in 1997, he served at United Parcel Service (UPS) as Director, Roadnet Technologies, a division of UPS from 1993 to 1997 and Project Leader/Technical Leader from 1990 to 1993. Earlier in his career he served as Senior Software Engineer at Gerber Scientific from 1987 to 1990 and Software Engineer at Micrognosis from 1986 to 1987.

The Navigators Group Appoints Global Cyber Leader          

International specialty insurance company The Navigators Group appointed Jacob Ingerslev to the newly created position of Global Practice Leader for Cyber Liability. Mr. Ingerslev will be responsible for leading Navigators’ Cyber Liability practice, including product development, line management and advancement of the company’s global cyber initiative.

Employers Holdings Hires CIO from West Bend Mutual Insurance Company        

Specialty provider of workers compensation insurance Employers Holdings appointed Tracey Berg as its EVP, CIO.  Berg most recently served as SVP and CIO for West Bend Mutual Insurance Company in West Bend, Wisconsin from 2008 until 2017. Prior to that, she served as 2nd VP, Strategy and Architecture and 2nd VP, Application Development for Assurant

Corizon Health CIO Joins National Healthcare in Similar Role    B. Anderson “Andy” Flatt    

National HealthCare announced that B. Anderson “Andy” Flatt has joined the company as SVP and CIO. He comes to the company from Corizon Health, where he served as SVP and CIO. Previously, he served as SVP, CIO for Cigna-HealthSpring from 2006-2014, and AIM Healthcare Services (now Optum) from 2000-2006. Prior to those roles, Andy served in technology management positions at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hexaware Technologies Limited Appoints Krishna Kumar as the CTO        

Hexaware Technologies, an India based CMMI Level 5 global IT services and consulting company, appointed Krishna Kumar as the CTO of the company. Kumar has over 25 years of experience, including about a decade each at Tata Consultancy Services and Yahoo. More recently, he has been working on big data platforms and cloud infrastructure and has an engineering degree from IIT, Madras.

Aconex Appoints CTO from Telstra

Aconex, the Australian cloud collaboration software provider to the construction industry, appointed Craig Fulton as CTO. He joins Aconex from Telstra, where he held a series of executive positions in cloud solutions and delivery, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) engineering.
