Facebook Appoints New Leader for Infrastructure Connectivity and Investments; Names Geographic LeadersKevin Lo

Facebook has hired Kevin Lo, the former GM for Google Fibre, as its new director of infrastructure connectivity and investments. The appointment shows Facebook is expanding its Internet connectivity plans as Lo will work with Facebook's external partnerships, such as the fibre-optic cable deal Facebook made with Microsoft, which aims to provide stronger Internet connectivity to densely populated urban areas. 

Facebook has appointed Umang Bedi as MD, India. Bedi will lead in building and maintaining strategic relationships with top clients and regional agencies in the country. He will take over from Kirthiga Reddy, who will be returning to United States to take on a new role at the company's headquarters at Menlo Park. Prior to joining Facebook, Bedi was the MD of the South Asia region at Adobe.

Shant Oknayan joined as head of e-commerce, retail and online services at Facebook in the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan. He formerly led Google's market development for small and medium-sized businesses in the Middle East and North Africa.

AT&T Appoints Redpoint Ventures Co-Founder to its Board of DirectorsGeoffrey Yang     

AT&T has appointed Geoffrey Yang, 56, to its Board of Directors. Geoff co-founded Redpoint in 1999 and has backed trailblazing consumer Internet companies from the earliest stages that include Ask Jeeves, Excite, MySpace, and TiVo. He has been involved in Redpoint’s investments in Arista, Bluefin, Calix, Efficient Frontier, Foundry, Juniper Networks, and Victorious. He was previously a member of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee and the advisory council for the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He currently serves on the board of Electric Imp, Machinima, Scribd, TasteMade, Tidemark, and Vurb.

SAP Appoints Concur Exec as President to Lead Team Offering Solutions for SMBs

SAP appointed Barry Padgett as new president of the SAP® Business One, SAP Anywhere, and SAP Business ByDesign® teams. He steps into the role having held various leadership positions since 1997 at Concur Technologies, including serving as Concur's chief product officer since 2014.

Accenture Announces Series of Executive Changes      

Accenture appointed Debra (Debbie) A. Polishook as group chief executive – Accenture Operations, succeeding Michael (Mike) J. Salvino, who will retire from the company and join Carrick Capital Partners. Polishook is currently group operating officer for Accenture Operations.

Accenture named Manish Sharma group operating officer – Accenture Operations, succeeding Ms. Polishook. Sharma, based in Bangalore, India, is currently senior MD – Global Delivery & Solution Development for Accenture Operations. In his new role as group operating officer – Accenture Operations, Sharma will continue as a member of Accenture’s Global Leadership Council.

Accenture announced Kelly Bissell is joining the company to lead Accenture Security. Bissell brings extensive knowledge of the cyber security landscape and comes to Accenture from Deloitte & Touche, where he headed up global Cyber Risk for the firm. During his career, he has served in almost every IT capacity from developer, network engineer, data center director, CISO, CTO and CIO.

Texas Instruments Elects Retired PwC Veteran to the Board of Directors     

Texas Instruments elected Jean Hobby to the Board of Directors of the company. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Hobby, 55, served as strategy officer from 2013 until retirement in 2015. Earlier positions there included U.S. sector lead for the firm's multi-billion dollar Technology, Media and Telecom practice from 2008 to 2013, and CFO from 2005 to 2008. She currently serves on the board of Greatbatch.

Adobe Hires CIO from NetApp; Names MD for South Asia     

Adobe named Cynthia Stoddard as SVP and CIO. Most recently, she was CIO and SVP at data storage and management company NetApp, where she led the company's traditional IT functions while also expanding focus on innovation, customer-facing programs and strategic partnerships.

Adobe has elevated Kulmeet Bawa to MD for South Asia, taking over from Umang Bedi, who is leaving the company after five years of service. Bawa currently serves as Head of Sales for Adobe in India. Shanmugh Natarajan, Executive Director for Adobe India and VP Engineering, Digital Media, will continue to provide Site Leadership to Adobe India with a key focus on important research and development operations.

PayPal Promotes APAC Tech Exec as MD and Country Manager for India  

PayPal has appointed Anupam Pahuja as MD and country manager for India. Prior to his elevation, Pahuja was the technology head in the Asia-Pacific region at PayPal. He was worked with the company for over six years and was instrumental in establishing their technology centers in India. He worked as MD for India for SumTotal Systems, before joining the company.

Nokia Announces New Leaders for APJ Market and India      

Nokia has promoted India head Sandeep Girotra as the head of Asia-Pacific and Japan market, and named Sanjay Malik as the new head of the country. Malik, who is currently serving Nokia as the VP and head of global network implementation services, which is a part of the company's Global Services business, will assume the responsibility from August 1, 2016. Girotra is currently overseeing the combined company's customer operations across India, driving the execution of strategy and ensuring customer service.

CSC and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Announce Executive Appointments for New Company        

CSC announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved a plan to merge the company with the Enterprise Services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of March 2017, subject to shareholder and regulatory reviews and approvals. Following completion of the transaction, Mike Lawrie, who currently serves as chairman, president and CEO of CSC, will become chairman, president and CEO of the new company.

Meg Whitman, HPE’s president and CEO, will join the new company’s Board of Directors, which will be split equally between nominees of CSC and HPE.

CSC’s current CFO, Paul Saleh, will continue in that role after the transaction closes.

Mike Nefkens, the current EVP and GM of HPE Enterprise Services, will report to Lawrie and will become a key part of the new company’s executive team. Other executives and directors, as well as the name of the company, will be announced at a later date.

eBay Appoints Lyft Co-Founder as Newest Board Member     Logan Green

eBay appointed Logan Green as a new member of the company's Board of Directors. Prior to co-founding Lyft in 2012, Green founded Zimride, a rideshare program that was initially implemented at Cornell University.  Before that, he created the first car-share program at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and served on the board of the Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District. Green serves on the Board of Lyft.

Yahoo Japan Chairman Retires     

Yahoo Japan’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Nikesh Arora has retired. Nikesh Arora, a former Google executive, was the President & COO of SoftBank from October 2014 until June 2016.

NVIDIA Witnesses Executive Change     

David M. Shannon, EVP, Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary informed NVIDIA, engaged in visual computing, that he will retire at the end of the calendar year 2016. The company's current SVP and General Counsel, Brian E. Cabrera will lead the legal team.

IDEO Partner Resigns from Fiserv’s Board

Christopher M. Flink, 44, resigned from the board of directors of Fiserv in connection with new employment. Flink is a partner at the innovation and design firm IDEO and consulting associate professor at Stanford University. With more than 15 years of experience in business innovation and design, Flink has served as a Director since 2012.

Electronic Arts Appoints CEO of Blackhawk Network to Its Board

Electronic Arts appointed Talbott Roche, 49, to EA’s Board of Directors. Roche is the CEO and President of Blackhawk Network. Prior to her role as CEO, Roche served as the President of Blackhawk, as well as leading Marketing, Product and Business Development for the company.

Expedia Elects Film and Theatrical Producer to Fill a Newly-Created Directorship

Expedia expanded the size of the Board from thirteen to fourteen members and elected Scott Rudin, 57, to fill the newly-created directorship. Rudin is an American film producer and a theatrical producer. Rudin began his career in the entertainment industry in the 1970s, and since then has served in a variety of roles, including as founder and principal of Scott Rudin Productions and as a senior executive at Twentieth Century Fox.

Capgemini Group Makes Management Reshuffle         

Capgemini Group announced executive appointments: Patrick Nicolet, formerly Head of the Infrastructure Services business, continues to be a member of the Group Executive Board, in charge of the newly created Competitiveness central department that encompasses Delivery, Industrialization and Procurement. Patrick also now oversees Capgemini's India operations.

In addition to the global Financial Services business, Thierry Delaporte now oversees Capgemini's Latin America operations. He has joined the Group Executive Board.

Aruna Jayanthi, formerly Head of Capgemini in India, has taken charge of a new global Business Services unit which combines Capgemini's BPO organization and IGATE 's Integrated Technology and Operations Solution (ITOPs) business. Aruna remains on the Group Executive Committee.

Srinivas Kandula, formerly Chief People Officer at IGATE, has replaced Aruna as Head of Capgemini in India and has thus joined the Group Executive Committee.

Srikanth Iyengar, who was leading Europe & Australia at IGATE, is now Capgemini's Group Sales Director and has become a member of the Group Executive Committee. He replaces Paul Nannetti who now leads the Cloud Infrastructure Services business.

Dee Burger, formerly Head of Capgemini Consulting's North America operation, is now in a new Group role as Head of Digital Services and has joined the Group Executive Committee.

Finally, Virginie Regis has succeeded Philippe Grangeon as Group Marketing & Communications Director and has joined the Group Executive Committee. Philippe Grangeon has taken on the role of special advisor to the Chairman and CEO, Paul Hermelin.

CA Sees Principal Accounting Officer Replacement

CA elected Anthony J. Radesca as the company's principal accounting officer. Radesca, 47, has served as the company's VP of Accounting since June 2008. He brings 25 years of experience in both Public and Corporate Accounting to his new role. Radesca is a NeVPw York State Licensed Certified Public Accountant. Radesca will succeed Neil A. Manna, who resigned as the Company's principal accounting officer to pursue another opportunity.

Alcatel-Lucent Splits Chair-CEO Structure         

Marc Rouanne has been appointed as Chairman of the Board and Olivier Durand as CEO of the company. The Board of Directors acknowledged the expiration of the term of Philippe Camus as Chairman and CEO of the company, and decided to distinguish the positions of Chairman of the Board and CEO.

Marc Rouanne remains Chief Innovation and Operating Officer of Nokia Corporation, as Alcatel-Lucent has joined Nokia following successful exchange of shares, creating an innovation leader in next-generation technology and services for an IP connected world.

Olivier Durand's current employment contract as Group CFO will be suspended. Durand has spent over 18 years within the Alcatel-Lucent Group.

Symantec to Acquire Blue Coat; Blue Coat CEO to Take Over as Symantec CEO  

Symantec and Blue Coat announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Symantec will acquire Blue Coat for approximately Greg Clark$4.651 billion in cash. In connection with this investment, David Humphrey, a MD of Bain Capital Private Equity, will be appointed to Symantec’s Board of Directors, effective at the close of the transaction.

Greg Clark, CEO of Blue Coat, will be appointed CEO of Symantec and join the Symantec Board upon closing of the transaction. Greg Clark has served as the CEO of Blue Coat and as a member of the company’s board of directors since September 2011. Prior to joining, Clark was president and CEO of Mincom, from 2008 to August 2011.

Twitter Sees Multiple Board and Leadership Shuffles           

Twitter announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Debra L.  Lee, 60, Chairman and CEO of BET Networks, he parent company for Black Entertainment Television, to serve as a Board member. She served as the COO and President of Black Entertainment Television LLC since 1996.

Additionally, the Board has appointed Marjorie Scardino, 69, as lead independent director, effective following Twitter's 2016 Annual Meeting. She succeeds Peter Currie in the role, whose term will end following the Annual Meeting. Scardino is the former CEO of Pearson PLC.

Twitter appointed Mark Little as the new MD of Twitter in Ireland. The former RT broadcaster, who left Storyful in June 2015, has taken up the role with current chief Stephen McIntyre leaving the company. He has previously worked as RTÃ 's Washington correspondent and left the State broadcaster in 2009.

Twitter announced that its two executives are leaving. The two executives, Jana Messerschmidt and Nathan Hubbard, led business development and media and commerce, respectively. Messerschmidt had been at the company for six years, and Hubbard had worked since August 2013 on the company's media and commerce strategies. In their place, Twitter will appoint Ali Jafari, who leads the company's video advertising product, to take over both roles.
