Comcast Cable Appoints President, Technology and Product and CTO
Comcast Cable promoted Tony Werner to President, Technology and Product, and Sree Kotay to CTO. In his new role, Werner will continue to oversee all aspects of the Technology and Product organization, including innovation, development and operations. The Technology and Product team leads the design and development of Comcast's customer-facing products, software development, systems engineering, next-generation access networks, cloud computing and technical operations.
Kotay, Comcast's new CTO, joined Comcast in 2007 as Chief Software Architect. Kotay will take on an expanded role, leading Comcast's software and technology strategy, particularly as it relates to new customer-facing products and services, including advanced video and Internet. Mr. Kotay will also now oversee Comcast Innovation Labs Comcast's advanced research and development group as well as overseeing the integration of quality engineering into all aspects of product development.
Verifone Systems CTO Resigns
Verifone Systems announced the resignation of Alok Bhanot as EVP and CTO. Bhanot's responsibilities will be shared by Paul Galant, CEO, Glen Robson, EVP, Global Terminal Solutions and Marc Rothman, CFO.
HTC Announces CFO Changes 
Peter Shen
HTC Corporation announced that resignation of Chialin Chang, 48, as CFO and Company Spokesperson. The board appointed Peter Shen as CFO and Company Spokesperson. Chang was earlier President of Global Sales since December 17, 2013 until June 20, 2016.
Shen is former VP & CFO of Inotera Memories, a JV of Micron Technology. Prior to joining Inotera, he was the Senior Financial Controller at Jabil Circuit.
Ciena Appoints Ericsson Exec as MD for Australia and New Zealand
Ciena appointed Matt Vesperman as MD for Australia and New Zealand. Before re-joining Ciena, Vesperman most recently as a senior account director at Ericsson and as VP of sales at Openwave Mobility.
RingCentral Makes Series of Executive Appointments 
Carson Hostetter
Cloud-based phone systems provider RingCentral announced that Carson Hostetter, formerly VP of Sales at Avaya, joins RingCentral as VP of Enterprise Sales. David Marler, formerly in leadership positions at ShoreTel and CA Technologies, joins RingCentral as VP of Customer Success; and Chuck Emmette, also a former Avaya VP, joins as Head of Professional Services.
