Nokia Announces Resignation of Board Member; Appoints New Geographic Leaders
Nokia announced that Vivek Badrinath has informed that he will step down from the Nokia Board of Directors, due to his appointment as CEO for Vodafone's Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific region.
Nokia has promoted India head Sandeep Girotra as the head of Asia-Pacific and Japan market, and named Sanjay Malik as the new head of the country. Malik is currently serving Nokia as the VP and head of global network implementation services, which is a part of the company's Global Services business. Girotra is currently overseeing the combined company's customer operations across India, driving the execution of strategy and ensuring customer service.
Ericsson Goes Through Several Leadership Changes
Hans VestbergHans Vestberg resigned as President and CEO and member of the Board, with immediate effect. Jan Frykhammar, EVP and CFO, will assume the CEO position until a new CEO is in office. Carl Mellander, currently VP & Group Treasurer, is appointed acting CFO with immediate effect.
Ericsson announced that Tarek Saadi has been appointed Head of Global Customer Unit (GCU) Zain as well as Head of Customer Unit for the GCC and Pakistan within Ericsson Region Middle East and East Africa.
Ericsson promoted Ali Eid as the head of Customer unit for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Palestine within the Ericsson region Middle East and East Africa. Since 2010, Eid has been the head of Ericsson KSA.
Sprint Names VP of Enterprise Sales for the South Area
David Aspinall has recently joined Sprint as VP of enterprise sales. Aspinall has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including senior

Originally from the U.K., he moved to the U.S. in 1999 to support a clients IT transition from London to Chicago as part of a large outsource arrangement. Since that time Aspinall has held transformational positions in Product Marketing, Pricing, Field Marketing and 10 years of VP Sales leadership experience.
Coolpad Group Limited Announces Chairman and CEO Changes
Guo Deying has resigned as an executive Director, the chairman of the Board and CEO of Chinese telecommunications equipment company Coolpad Group due to his health condition. Following Guo Deying's resignation, Jia Yueting, an executive Director, has been appointed as the Chairman. Jia has entered into a service contract with the Company for a fixed term of 3 years.
ShoreTel Appoints New Board Member with Significant Financial Expertise
The Board of directors of ShoreTel, the provider of unified communications (UC) solutions and phone systems, has appointed Marjorie Bowen, 51, to the board. She served as Managing Director, National Director Fairness Opinion Practice at Houlihan Lokey from 1989 to 2008.
