Google Appoints Former Airbnb Executive for Self-Driving Car ProjectShaun Stewart

Google announced that Shaun Stewart, a former Airbnb executive, has been appointed as the new director of its self-driving car project. Stewart will help the company in commercializing Google's self-driving technology, which has been in development for more than seven years, reported Reuters. The hiring follows the departure of Chris Urmson, who served as chief technical officer of the self-driving car project. 

GE Appoints New Chief Digital Officer for GE Power; GE Digital COO Joins United Technologies as CIO

Ganesh Bell has been promoted to VP & Chief Digital Officer, GE Power. Ganesh joined GE in 2014. Prior to GE, he was EVP & Chief Products Officer at Service Source.

Vince Campisi, COO for GE Digital, responsible for cybersecurity, business and cloud operations, has left. He joined United Technologies as SVP, Digital, and CIO. Campisi started with GE in 1999 and progressed through leadership roles including GM, Cloud Services & CIO for GE Software.

Citi Names Head of Technology for Global Consumer Banking from JPMorgan Chase      

Gavin Michael will be joining Citi as head of Technology for Global Consumer Banking. Michael joins Citi from JPMorgan Chase where he served as head of Digital for Consumer and Community Banking. Gavin had responsibility for the technology and engineering teams as well as Customer Experience and Design, Product and Payments, Platform and Delivery, Data Intelligence and Data Analytics. Prior to Chase, he was Chief Technology Innovation officer at Accenture.

Siemens Promotes Systems Engineering Exec as CTO for Middle East Operations and Head of the Qatar Innovation Center 

Siemens appointed Peter Tollkuehn as its CTO for Middle East operations, and also the head of the Qatar Innovation Center. Previously head of technology field systems engineering at Siemens Corporate Technology in Munich, he brings 25 years of experience in building successful research and development teams across the world, including in Russia, China and the US.

Dow Chemical Company Names Long Time IT Exec as CIOMelanie Kalmar

The Dow Chemical Company announced that Melanie Kalmar, global director Information Systems, has been named CIO. Kalmar also chairs the Executive Steering Team which is accountable to provide the overarching vision and corporate priorities, allocate resources and manage overall risk for IT investments. Kalmar has also been at the epicenter of Dow's merger & acquisition IT projects. She led the most complex SAP implementation in the world, and was accountable for launching the information systems required to operate Sadara, the joint venture developed by Dow and Saudi Aramco. Kalmar joined Dow in January 1987 in Research Information Systems in Midland, Michigan.

Telefonica Appoints CISO     

Telefonica has appointed Alejandro Ramos as its chief information security officer. In his role, Ramos will be responsible for planning, development, control and management of policies related to the company's information security and operations, reporting directly to Alonso. He was previously head of cybersecurity for Spain and Portugal at ING bank.

Erez Yarkoni to Leave Telstra as CIO           

Telstra announced that its CIO Erez Yarkoni has decided to leave the company. Yarkoni will stay at Telstra until October 2016, to ensure a smooth transition of his leadership. Yarkoni joined Telstra in early 2013 to run its cloud business unit and was promoted to CIO in February 2015.

Airbus Group Announces CIO Changes         

Airbus Group has announced the departure of Guus Dekkers as CIO. Dekkers will be succeeded by Luc Hennekens, currently CIO of Qantas Airways. Before Hennekens joined Qantas, he has worked with Procter & Gamble and Hewlett-Packard among others.

Equinix Witnesses Tech Executive Changes 

Equinix promoted Brian Lillie to Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and EVP of Technology Services. Lillie has served as the Global CIO of Equinix for the past eight years.

The company also announced that it has appointed Milind Wagle as the new Global CIO reporting into the Customer Success Organization. Formerly the VP of Global IT in the CIO organization, Wagle will lead the global IT team. Wagle has been with Equinix for six years and previously held leadership positions at VeriSign, KPMG Consulting and BearingPoint.

MTN Appoints Chief Digital Officer 

MTN SA announced that Maxwell Takalani Nonge has been appointed Chief Digital Officer. Nonge is currently group CTO at eMedia Investments and was MD of Platco Digital from 2013 to 2016. In total, he has 17 years' experience in the telecommunications and broadcasting space across Southern Africa.

Lear Appoints VP, Cyber Security for E-Systems      

Lear Corporation announced that Dr. André Weimerskirch has been appointed as VP, Cyber Security for E-Systems. Most recently, André was leading vehicle cyber security research at the University of Michigan. André will be responsible for driving Lear's global cyber security technology strategy and implementation.

Turkcell Tech Group EVP Resigns    

The leading mobile phone operator of Turkey Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri announced that lker Kuruoz, who joined Company in 2006, and who has served as the EVP of Technology Group, has decided to resign from his position. The Network Technologies SVP and the Information and Communication Technologies SVP, currently positioned under the Technology Group, will continue in their roles by reporting directly to the CEO in the organizational structure.

W. R. Berkley Taps CIO from Risk Solutions International

Fortune 500 company W. R. Berkley Corporation appointed Richard M. Lowery as SVP and CIO. In this role, Lowery will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic IT solutions. Lowery has nearly 30 years of experience in IT and most recently served in senior roles at Risk Solutions International and Marsh & McLennan Companies, management consulting firms focused on creating strategies to enable business with technology.

Level 3 Veteran Joins Zayo Group as CTO and President of Network SolutionsJack Waters

Communications infrastructure service provider Zayo Group Holdings has named Jack Waters as CTO and president of Network Solutions. During Waters' 18-year tenure with Level 3, he held key leadership and engineering roles and is well known for his role as their long-time CTO. Before joining Level 3, Waters was an executive staff member for MCI Communications, responsible for network architecture and implementation.

CTO Zining Wu Leaves Marvell Technology Group  

Dr. Zining Wu, CTO, notified Marvell Technology Group of his decision to leave Marvell. Dr. Wu has worked at Marvell Semiconductor since July 1999. Since August 2008, he has served as the Marvell Semiconductor's Vice President of Data Storage Technology.

LIXIL Appoints Chief Digital Officer to Bring in New Technologies           

Japanese manufacturer of building materials and housing equipment LIXIL Group appointed Yugo Kanazawa to the newly created role of Senior Managing Director and Chief Digital Officer. Prior to joining LIXIL, Kanazawa served as VP, Online Business, W.W. Grainger. Kanazawa brings over 15 years of management experience and expertise in Business Development, Corporate Strategy, Digital Technology, Content Development and Marketing.

PTC Appoints Andrew Timm as CTO           

PTC reported that Andrew Timm has been appointed as the company's CTO. ost recently, Timm served as vice president of PTC’s Technology Platform Group, where he energized the technical dimension of its IoT partner program. Timm began his career with PTC before following his entrepreneurial spirit, starting a consulting company focused on helping customers derive business value from PTC software. He later brought his team to Kalypso, a PTC systems integrator partner, where he initiated the company’s IoT practice and worked with ThingWorx® technology.

Ellie Mae Hires Visa Exec as Chief Architect

Ellie Mae announced that Michael Keselman has joined the company as Chief Architect. Keselman will be responsible for directing the architecture of Ellie Mae's complete cloud solution offering and will drive the evolution and design of Ellie Mae's open industry cloud platform. Prior to joining the company, Keselman worked at Visa as the Chief Architect for merchant and acquirer processing. Prior to his work at Visa, Keselman was the CTO at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.

Amec Foster Wheeler Appoints CIO from Centrica Energy

Amec Foster Wheeler appointed Rod Carr to the newly created position of CIO. Based in London, UK, and reporting to the CEO, he will be a member of the Group Leadership Team. Carr joins from Centrica Energy, where he was Group CIO and led a profound change in operating style for information services from customer programmes, to the integration of disparate international businesses.

Rostelecom Appoints New VP for IT

Russia's leading long-distance telephony provider Rostelecom has appointed Aleksey Telyatnikov as new VP for IT. Telyatnikov will be responsible for forming a targeted IT insfrastructure, reshaping the IT landscape and modifying IT functions at the national operator. Telyatnikov earlier worked as executive director of the company Tinkoff Insurance.

Lancope CISO Joins QTS Realty Trust         

QTS Realty Trust announced that Andrew Wild has joined the company as Chief Information Security Officer. Wild, who has more than 25 years of information security and risk management experience, has been successful in building corporate information security programs. Wild was most recently the CISO at Lancope, and prior to that he was the CSO at Qualys.

F.N.B. Taps FirstMerit CISO

Financial services corporation F.N.B. hired Scot Pflug as Chief Information Security Officer. Pflug brings more than 20 years of diverse IT experience to FNB, including positions in the consulting, retail and financial services industries. Most recently, he served as Chief Information Security Officer for FirstMerit Bank.

Singapore Based Public Transport Operator SMRT Promotes Tech Exec as CTO   

SMRT Corporation announced that Ng Bor Kiat, who is currently SVP, Systems & Technology and Technology Management Office, will be appointed to take on the appointment as CTO. Ng joined SMRT in June 2013. Prior to joining SMRT, he was Director, Corporate Development at the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and has around 13 years of experience with The Defence Science and Technology Agency.

Union Bank of the Philippines CIO Retires   

Union Bank of the Philippines announced that at the Ceferino P. Tolentino, Jr., CIO with the rank of SVP, has retired from the bank.

Corbion Appoints CTO to Drive Innovation and Technology Agenda

Corbion announced that Marcel Wubbolts will join as CTO. He will be driving the innovation and technology agenda enabling business development opportunities to support the company's growth journey. Following several positions in academia, he joined DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials  based in the  Netherlands. Currently, Marcel is CTO and member of the DSM global leadership team. 

GoPro CIO Joins Sophos in Similar Role       Tony Young

Sophos appointed Tony Young as its CIO. Young joins the company from GoPro, where he served as CIO. Prior to GoPro, Young was SVP for Cloud and Subscription Sales at Informatica, where he was responsible for growing Informatica's global cloud business. Prior to joining Informatica in 2002, Young worked at Converge as the director of Exchange Applications and Mindcrossing as VP of product development. Young began his career at Hewlett Packard (HP) as a software developer and held a number of IT and marketing roles during his 11 years there.

PRA Group Names Assistant VP, Application Development and Support    

Debt buyer PRA Group announced that Chandra Ragyari has been named as Assistant VP, Application Development and Support. Ragyari has more than 16 years of experience in IT including software and mobile application development, cloud services architecture, data reporting and analysis, and infrastructure security. His previous roles include senior IT lead for Capital One and software development manager for Bostwick Laboratories.

Q2 Holdings Appoints Former Fiserv Exec as New Chief Security Officer  

Q2 Holdings reported that longtime financial services industry veteran Bob Michaud has joined the company as chief security officer. He held numerous positions at Fiserv as a loan product manager, general manager of branch automation and chief of the Quality and Standards Audit Office before becoming the head of all audit risk and compliance activities for Fiserv's Bank Solutions business unit. Michaud most recently held the position of EVP of client operations at Continuity, a technology solutions provider that automates compliance management for financial institutions.

Kudelski Security Names CTO as Part of Major Leadership Shuffle 

Kudelski Security, the cybersecurity division of the Kudelski Group announced a number of senior leadership appointments as Kudelski Security expands its global presence. These include the appointment of Andrew Howard, formerly director of Cyber Technology and Information Security Lab at Georgia Tech, as CTO.

The Andersons Gets New CIO from Armstrong World Industries

Agribusiness firm The Andersons appointed Anthony Lombardi as its new CIO. Tony joins The Andersons after most recently serving as the VP of Global Business Services & CIO for Armstrong World Industries.

Cogeco Appoints Former Alcatel-Lucent Exec as Chief Technology and Strategy Officer

Cogeco appointed Luc Noiseux as SVP and Chief Technology and Strategy Officer. Most recently, he was VP Research & Development at Accedian Networks, where he was responsible for all product development and for the Chief of Technology office. Previously, Noiseux also held several senior research and development roles at Alcatel-Lucent.

WebMD Health Services Taps CTO from Premise Health

Trusted digital health and medical information provider WebMD Health Services announced Jacob Sims has joined the company as CTO. Sims most recently served as VP of Development and Technology at Premise Health, where he was responsible for driving all aspects of engineering, including development, quality assurance, data acquisition & integration, user experience & design, product strategy, and product delivery.
