Facebook Taps Snapdeal’s Chief Product Officer
Facebook has appointed former Chief Product Officer at Snapdeal and Bharti Airtel, Anand Chandrasekaran for its Messenger platform. In a global role, Chandrasekaran will be working out of the Silicon Valley headquarters of the company and will help develop strategies and partnerships for the platform that already boasts of a billion users globally. Chandrasekaran, who served as the senior director of mobile and search products at Yahoo between 2011 and 2014, worked with Airtel and Snapdeal in India in the past two and a half years.
Paypal Announces Geographic Leadership Changes
Paypal has appointed Frank Keller as the new General Manager for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, succeeding Arnulf Keese who leaves the company after ten years. Until recently, Keller managed the corporate customer business. Keese moves on to become general partner of a venture capital fund. He joined Paypal as Head of Strategy & Business Operations.
JD.Com Announces Executive Changes
Shen Haoyu, CEO of China based JD Mall, JD.com's B2C business group, is to transfer to the US for family reasons and will act as president of JD.com's international operation. Shen Haoyu joined JD as COO in 2011.
Capgemini Names Chief Digital Officer of its North American Application Services and Consulting Services
Capgemini has named Kim Smith Chief Digital Officer of its North American Application Services and Consulting Services. In her prior role, Smith was Adobe's first global head of digital services innovation where she led the development of its digital services portfolio strategy, and launched Adobe's Smart Bag for retailers and Immersive Retail Experience offering in collaboration with Capgemini. She was previously a vice president at Capgemini, and led product and service lines for cloud and digital innovation. Prior to that, Smith spent 12 years as an executive at Microsoft leading online, digital, cloud products and services innovation.
Square Announces Executive Changes
Square announced that Ajmere Dale, 46, will join the Company as Chief Accounting Officer. Dale will assume the responsibility as Chief Accounting Officer from Sarah Friar, who will continue her role as the Company’s CFO. Prior to that, Dale served as VP and Corporate Controller for SolarCity, where he was responsible for financial accounting and reporting.
Dana R. Wagner, the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Square, notified the company of his intention to resign from his position. The company's current Associate General Counsels, Sydney Schaub and Sivan Whiteley, have been appointed to serve as acting Co-General Counsels, effective upon Wagner's resignation.
Wayfair Names VP of Operations Product Innovation Team
Wayfair, the e-commerce company selling home improvement goods, announced that Doran Robinson has joined the company as VP of Operations Product Innovation. With extensive experience spearheading technological innovation and service delivery improvements for major U.S. companies, Robinson will drive the expansion of the fulfilment and service systems that power Wayfair’s operations, and will lead efforts to deliver a world-class post-order experience.
WebMD Announces CEO Changes
WebMD Health Corp. has appointed Steven L. Zatz, M.D., its President, to serve as its CEO. Dr. Zatz has been a member of the senior leadership of WebMD and its predecessor companies for 17 years. Dr. Zatz was appointed President of WebMD in 2013 and, for the last three years, has been responsible for all aspects of the company's advertising and sponsorship business, which represents approximately 80% of the company's revenue. Prior to becoming President, Dr. Zatz was EVP of Professional Services, responsible for Medscape, the company's site for healthcare professionals.
David J. Schlanger, who has served as CEO since 2013, is leaving the company by mutual agreement.
Benefitfocus Names Former Infor and SumTotal CFO to Similar Role
Cloud based benefits enrollment portal Benefitfocus announced that Jeffrey Laborde has been appointed CFO. Laborde brings to Benefitfocus extensive strategic and financial leadership experience in the technology sector. Laborde has previously served as CFO at both Infor and SumTotal Systems.
Dropbox’s CFO is Departing for Health Reasons
File hosting service provider Dropbox’s CFO Vanessa Wittman is stepping down due to health reasons. She’ll be replaced by financial deputy Ajay Vashee. Wittman joined Dropbox in 2015 from Motorola Mobility, with longtime experience in the public sector. She was CFO at Marsh & McLennan and was a corporate development executive at Microsoft.
Vashee, who joined Dropbox in 2012, will now lead its financial operations and strategy. His previous jobs included roles at New Enterprise Associates and Morgan Stanley.
