Siemens Announces CIO Changes     Helmuth Ludwig

Siemens appointed Helmuth Ludwig as new CIO, thus assuming responsibility for global IT at the company. He succeeds Norbert Kleinjohann, 62, who is retiring. Ludwig was previously Chief Digital Officer of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Business Unit at Siemens' Digital Factory Division. 

AIG Appoints Chief Enterprise Architect       

Hugh Tamassia will join AIG as Chief Enterprise Architect, with responsibility for designing an enterprise architecture to effectively drive AIG’s IT priorities and company-wide strategic plan.  Tamassia joins AIG after serving in senior technology roles at JPMorgan Chase for 13 years, most recently as CTO for Consumer and Community Banking Servicing Technology.

Ericsson Combines Strategy and Technology Functions       

Ulf Ewaldsson was appointed Chief Strategy and Technology Officer and Head of Group Function Strategy and Technology for the Ericsson Group. Ulf Ewaldsson currently holds the position as CTO and Head of Group Function Technology. Current Chief Strategy Officer Rima Qureshi was appointed Head of Region North America in July this year.

Level 3 Communications Names CTO and CIO       

Level 3 Communications has named Andrew Dugan as CTO, and Atilla Tinic as CIO. Dugan has been with the company since 1998 and has served as interim lead for the Global Technology and IT Organization since June 2016.

Tinic joined the company in 2014 as part of the tw telecom acquisition and had been with the company since 2004. His former role was SVP of IT.

IAG Announces Executive Changes  

IAG announced that Group Executive Digital and Technology Claire Rawlins has left the company. Ms. Rawlins joined IAG in June last year with a mandate to accelerate IAG's technology and digital priorities. Peter Bonney will lead the Digital Labs team on an interim basis. Mr. Bonney joined IAG from Deloitte Digital technology in 2015 to head up Disruptive Technology and Architecture within IAG Digital Labs.

NetApp Appoints Former Broadcom CIO     Bill Miller

NetApp appointed Bill Miller as CIO. In this role, Miller will lead NetApp’s IT organization, support the company’s ongoing transformation, and work with peer organizations to advance business strategy and technology initiatives. Miller is former CIO of Broadcom.

China Based Online Discount Retailer Vipshop Sees CTO Replacement      

Vipshop, the leading online discount retailer for brands in China, announced that its CTO Daniel Kao has tendered his resignation due to personal reasons. Dr. Bill Huang will be appointed as the new CTO following Kao's resignation. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Huang was most recently CTO and SVP of Sina Corporation and had been CTO and SVP of PPTV before Sina.

F5 Networks Announces Chief Technical Officer Changes   

Karl Triebes notified F5 Networks that he is resigning as EVP of Product Development and Chief Technical Officer of the Company. The Company appointed its current SVP of Product Development Ryan Kearny as its Interim EVP of Product Development and Chief Technical Officer. Triebes is expected to remain in an advisory role with the Company until January 1, 2017.

W. R. Berkley Corporation Names CIO with Expertise in Information Systems and Data Management

W.  R. Berkley Corporation appointed Richard M. Lowery as SVP and CIO. In Lowery has nearly 30 years of experience in IT and most recently served in senior roles at Risk Solutions International and Marsh & McLennan Companies, management consulting firms focused on creating strategies to enable business with technology.

RSA Insurance Group Appoints Chief Digital Officer           

RSA Insurance appointed Steven Zuanella to the role of group chief digital officer Zuanella will take up his new role at the beginning of 2017. Most recently, Steven was chief digital officer for Zurich UKGI where he set up the digital transformation agenda.

Hyatt Hotels Promotes Tech Exec as Global Head of Data, Innovation and Business Transformation       

Hyatt Hotels selected Alex Zoghlin as global head of data, innovation and business transformation. Zoghlin moves into the newly created position three years after joining Hyatt as the global head of technology. He is the founder of five technology companies, including Orbitz, for which he also served as CTO.

Former Starwood Hotels and Staples CIO Joins AutoNation as CTO         Tom Conophy 

AutoNation appointed Tom Conophy to the position of EVP, CTO. Allan Stejskal, SVP and CIO will be resigning from the company. Earlier, he served as EVP and CIO at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Intercontinental Hotels Group and Staples, where he was responsible for all aspects of the global IT organization.

Hiscox Promotes Matt Webb as Head of Cyber        

Bermuda-incorporated insurance provider Hiscox promoted Matt Webb to the newly created role of group head of cyber. Webb joined Hiscox ten years ago as a contingency underwriter. Following roles in professional indemnity for technology companies, Webb specialized in cyber insurance - most recently working as head of technology, cyber and data underwriting for Hiscox UK and Ireland.

Zebra Technologies Promotes its VP of Emerging Technology Office to CTO        

Zebra Technologies has appointed Tom Bianculli as CTO, a newly created role, to help advance its leadership in the growing market of Enterprise Asset Intelligence. Bianculli most recently served as VP of Zebra's Emerging Technology Office. In this role, Bianculli testified on the topic of wearable technology before the U.S. House of Representatives.

BankUnited Appoints CIO from Citigroup    

BankUnited, the savings and loan association, appointed Julio Jogaib as CIO. A 33-year industry veteran, Jogaib joins BankUnited from Citigroup in Fort Lauderdale, where he served most recently as director for Latin America technology production services in the company’s global institutional clients group division. He is an expert in financial services IT, having held numerous executive-level IT roles in domestic and international business operations.

Ellie Mae Hires Visa Exec as Chief Architect

Ellie Mae announced that Michael Keselman has joined the company as Chief Architect. Keselman will be responsible for directing the architecture of Ellie Mae's complete cloud solution offering and will drive the evolution and design of Ellie Mae's open industry cloud platform. Prior to joining the company, Keselman worked at Visa as the Chief Architect for merchant and acquirer processing. Prior to his work at Visa, Keselman was the CTO at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.

OUTFRONT Appoints CTO to Strengthen its Technology Development   

OUTFRONT Media announced the hire of Joel Melby, who will serve as the company's CTO. In his new role, Melby will oversee the development and engineering team that is building OUTFRONT Media's ON Smart Media platform. Most recently he served as the CTO of clypd.

QTS Realty Trust Appoints CISO from Lancope      

QTS Realty Trust announced that Andrew Wild has joined the company as Chief Information Security Officer. Wild, who has more than 25 years of information security and risk management experience, has been successful in building corporate information security programs and managing groups of engineers to provide network visibility and security intelligence to defend enterprises against the latest threats. Wild was most recently the CISO at Lancope, and prior to that he was the CSO at Qualys.

NSFOCUS Transitions CTO to Role of SVP of Global Threat Research      

Network and terminal security products company NSFOCUS appointed Dr. Richard Zhao to the position of SVP of Global Threat Research. Dr. Zhao previously served as the CTO of NSFOCUS, and will retain this position while undertaking his new role where he will oversee the company's threat intelligence division. Before joining NSFOCUS, Dr. Zhao served as the Director of Architect and Security Operations at Lenovo and Principal Consultant in China for Computer Associates. In addition, he worked for iS-One as Chief Strategy Officer.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Appoints Chief Platform Architect        

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has appointed Martin Davy to the newly created role of chief platform architect and EVP of engineering. Prior to joining HMH, Davy was VP of worldwide product engineering for the Pegasystems, where he led the engineering and development operations aspects of the Pega platform, partnering with the head of product and the head of Cloud Operations.

Amedisys Appoints Interim CIO        

Amedisys CIO Martin B.  Howard is leaving the company. Michael North, SVP of operations, will assume the role of interim CIO. North, a seasoned IT executive, most recently led Amedisys' successful conversion to the Homecare Homebase platform.  Before Amedisys, he served as the director of corporate development integrations for Humana. His senior level responsibilities included all IT and operational integrations for acquisitions. Prior to that, North served as the director of IT Support with Kindred Healthcare.

Weis Markets Appoints CIO From Retail Industry

Weis Markets hired R. Gregory Zeh Jr. as VP and CIO. Zeh has retail industry experience in IT and finance roles including as VP and CIO of Price Chopper Supermarkets. Prior to that, he was CFO of Mazzone Management Group.

Kaman Corporation CIO to Retire; Successor Named          

Ronald M. Galla, SVP and CIO of aerospace company Kaman Corporation notified the company that he intends to retire effective as of January 3, 2017, following 32 years of service to the company. Galla will be succeeded by Paul M. Villani, Senior Director, Software Development and ERP Support of the company's Distribution Segment, who is expected to be appointed SVP and CIO of the company, effective as of January 1, 2017.

SoftNAS Taps Senior Citrix Exec to Lead Product Development

SoftNAS, the software-defined cloud NAS, hired Citrix veteran Jeff Russo as SVP, Products. Most recently, he served as VP of Product Development at Citrix where he led development services for all product groups. Russo previously held product development management roles with Precision Response, IBM and Encore Computer Corporation.
