Cotiviti Appoints SAP Exec to Board of Directors Mala Anand

Cotiviti Holdings announced that Mala Anand, President of Analytics at SAP SE, was elected to Cotiviti’s Board of Directors to serve as an independent director.

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Announces Executive Appointments           

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions announced two additions to its executive team. Lisa Khorey joined Allscripts in the newly created role of Chief Client Delivery Officer, and Alan Fowles was named President of Allscripts International.

Khorey and her team will focus on all aspects of delivering Allscripts product and solution suites to clients. These efforts underscore Allscripts renewed focus on delivering top-notch, highly coordinated service to clients. Khorey joins Allscripts from Ernst & Young, where she was the Executive Director of E&Y’s National Provider Practice, specializing in analytics.

Fowles will lead the Allscripts team as the company continues its growth internationally; working with clients to effectively deploy technology to improve the health of the populations they manage.

EMIS Group CEO to Retire; Appoints Director

EMIS Group announced that Chris Spencer, the Group's Chief Executive since 2013, having reached the age of 60, has indicated his intention to retire from his position and from the Board by the end of 2017.

In an unrelated development the Group also appointed David Sides as an additional independent non-executive director. He spent 17 years at Cerner during which time he covered a range of roles including SVP (Worldwide Consulting) and four years as Managing Director of the UK and Ireland business, based in London. He is currently President and CEO of Streamline Health Solutions, and before that was CEO of IMDsoft.

NNIT Announces IT Operations Executive Changes           

Life sciences IT firm NNIT announced that Jess Julin Ibsen has decided to leave his position as EVP and Head of IT Operations at NNIT. NNIT has subsequently appointed Ricco Larsen SVP and new Head of IT Operations. Ricco Larsen comes from a position as Corporate VP, Head of Global Operations at NNIT.

Vocera Communications Names Chief Medical Information Officer

Vocera Communications announced that Benjamin Kanter, MD, FCCP, has been named as Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). Prior to joining Vocera, Dr. Kanter worked as an industry consultant and thought leader with innovative healthcare IT companies, including Extension Healthcare, where he was the CMIO.

Castlight Health and Jiff Announces Executive Appointments for Combined Company  John Doyle    

Castlight Health and Jiff announced agreement to come together to form a single company. Following the closing of the transaction, Castlight's president and COO, John Doyle, will assume the role of CEO of the combined company. Jiff's current CEO, Derek Newell, will become president of the combined company, responsible for sales and marketing, research and development, and professional services, and will report directly to John Doyle.

Giovanni Colella will continue his service with Castlight in the role of executive chairman of the board of directors, focusing on deepening key partner and customer relationships.

In addition, effective upon closing the transaction, two members of the current Jiff board of directors will be appointed to the Castlight board of directors and one of Castlight's current board members, Ann Lamont, will step down.

Orion Health Appoints Harvard Medical School Professor as an Independent Director       

Global healthcare platform Orion Health appointed Dr. John Halamka as an independent director of the company. Dr. Halamka is the International Healthcare Innovation professor at Harvard Medical School, where he has served in both Republican and Democrat presidential administrations, and Advised national governments throughout the world on health care technology.

CogState Appoints Retired Eli Lilly Alzheimer’s Drug Development Veteran as Non-Executive Director  

Cognitive screening & testing company Cogstate appointed Dr. Richard Mohs as a non- executive director. Dr. Mohs retired from Eli Lilly in 2015, where he held several leadership positions including VP for Neuroscience Early Clinical Development and Leader of the Global Alzheimer’s Drug Development Team. Dr. Mohs is currently Chief Scientific Officer for the Global Alzheimer’s Platform (GAP) Foundation. Richard also serves as a consultant to academic institutions, foundations and biopharmaceutical companies, and is a member of the Board of Governors for the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation.

Instem Appoints COO with Strong Track Record in Building Life Sciences Businesses

Life science software company Instem appointed MaryBeth Thompson as COO of the Group. Thompson has more than 18 years of experience in the life sciences industry, with a primary focus in Regulatory Affairs and Operations with a demonstrable track record as a leader and builder of outsourcing services businesses. During her tenure at PAREXEL International she established and expanded the regulatory outsourcing services practice from a $1 million revenue business with 30 employees to an international organization across the US, Europe and India with more than $30 million of revenues and 300 employees.

Connecture Hires CFO from HealthMEDX  

Connecture, a provider of web-based information systems used to create health insurance marketplaces, announced that Vincent Estrada has joined the company as CFO. Estrada joins Connecture from HealthMEDX, where he served as CFO and EVP of Business Development. Over the past 25 years, Estrada has helped transform healthcare companies by enhancing performance and creating shareholder value. His experiences at these organizations will serve to accelerate the transition of the business and complement the bench strength now at Connecture.

James P.  Purko, the company's CFO and Secretary, will be leaving the Company, to pursue other business opportunities.

MedAdvisor Appoints GM, Product & Strategy         

Australia based digital medication management company MedAdvisor strengthened its management team with the addition of Simon Chamberlain in the newly created role of General Manager - Product & Strategy. His role will be to maximize the awareness of the MedAdvisor platform among all stakeholders including patients, pharmacies, industry bodies, GPs and Government. Chamberlain served as EVP of Corporate Development and General Manager - UK of Hitwise. Prior to joining Hitwise in 2001, Chamberlain was the Commercial Manager of the online consultancy, emitch since 2000.

OptimizeRx Promotes VP, Sales to SVP of Marketing          

Health technology software company OptimizeRx promoted Ed Berger to the new position of SVP, Marketing. He has been OptimizeRx’s VP of Sales, where he played a pivotal role in acquiring major business accounts, including AstraZeneca, Otsuka, Novartis, Shire, and J&J. Prior to joining the company, Berger served in senior marketing roles at Cadient Group Digital and OmnicoSolutions.

Adherium Appoints European BD Frontrunner         

Adherium, a global leader in digital health technologies which address sub-optimal medication use in chronic disease, has appointed Scott Fleming as SVP of Business Development, Europe. John Tarplee stepped down from the role at the end of December 2016 to pursue a new venture. Fleming is a founding member of the digital drug delivery movement. Fleming engineered the sale of MicroDose to Teva Pharmaceutical in 2013, and subsequently took on a key role as the Global Brand Lead for eConnectivity of Teva's respiratory franchise based in Amsterdam, NL.

Lifespot Health Appoints Specialist in Procedural Dermatology as Director

German healthcare technology company Lifespot Health appointed Dr. Philip Bekhor as a Non-Executive Director of the Company. In 1993, Dr. Bekhor established Laser Dermatology. He is a specialist in procedural dermatology, which involves the laser and surgical management of skin disorders including cosmetic dermatology.

3D Signatures Appoints Chief Business Officer   Joost van der Mark      

3D Signatures, a novel personalized medicine company with proprietary software that can analyze a patient's chromosomal arrangement, appointed Joost van der Mark as its Chief Business Officer (CBO). He joins 3DS from BioSyent, where he served as VP of Corporate Development with responsibility for business development and market access initiatives. Prior to joining BioSyent, van der Mark co-founded Orphan Canada, which subsequently sold its assets to Knight Therapeutics in 2014.

Aino Health Appoints Former IBM Exec as Chief Marketing Officer          

Leif Fågelstedt has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer of Aino Health, which provides cloud based solutions to enhance corporate health and reduce sickness absence levels in private and public organizations. Leif Fågelstedt has extensive experience from senior positions within marketing, advertising and communication. Previous employers include companies such as IBM, Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks.

Eyecarrot Innovations Promotes Insider as CTO      

Eyecarrot Innovations, provider of visual and neuro-cognitive processing products for diagnosing and remediating visual perception, appointed Dr. Sam Mithani to the role of CTO and Director. Over the past 12 months, he has played a key role in developing and extending Eyecarrot's product and technology strategy. Dr. Mithani previously served as the CTO of Made with Magnolia; VP, Technical Services in  the Fine Chemical  Division at  Apotex; and as CTO of a new startup with partners from Indusblue, he established a SaaS magazine platform and contract development services, specializing in Xamarin, Android and iOS development.
