Walmart Gets a New CIO and Shuffles Tech Execs as it Moves More towards E-Commerce
Wal-Mart names GE Power’s Clay Johnson CIO and EVP for global business services, part of a larger reorganization of its corporate IT and e-commerce groups. The Global Business Services division combines cybersecurity, back-office solutions and global shared services groups. Johnson succeeds CIO Karenann Terrell, who is leaving after five years in the position. Before joining GE, Johnson was VP of IT at Boeing.
Jeremy King, CTO for global e-commerce, takes over in-store and online technology teams.
Kerry Pauling, most recently head of customer planning and analysis for Wal-Mart International, was promoted to CTO for the group.
Goldman Sachs Promotes Executives to Technology Roles
Goldman Sachs has hired new CIO Elisha Wiesel who will take over the position at the bank. As CIO, he is to take over from R Martin Chavez, who was recently promoted to CFO. Goldman Sachs also promoted partners Ryan Limaye and Nick Giovanni to co-heads of global technology investment banking. Previously, Limaye was head of enterprise technology banking, while Giovanni was head of Internet banking.
Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Names Chief Technology & Administrative Officer From Within Ranks
Mark Roellig has been appointed Chief Technology & Administrative Officer. Roellig has been General Counsel of MassMutual since joining the company in 2005.
Telstra Announces CTO Appointment
Telstra has appointed Hakan Eriksson as its CTO. Eriksson previously served as SEA and Oceania Chief Strategy Officer at Ericsson. He will replace Vish Nandlall who resigned from his position of Telstra CTO in May 2016.

Deutsche Bank has hired a new MD for technology from JP Morgan. Robert McMillan has joined the bank as managing director and global head of intelligence. He has a background in regulatory risk and compliance, as well as financial crime compliance.
Western Digital Announces CTO Changes
Western Digital named Martin Fink to the position of CTO. Fink most recently served as CTO and director of HP Labs at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Fink succeeds CTO Steven Campbell who will depart the company to pursue other opportunities after a long and distinguished career with Western Digital.
Fink worked in a wide range of business and technology leadership roles during his 30-year career at HP/HPE. Prior to being named CTO and director of HP Labs at HPE in 2012, he was SVP and general manager of Business Critical Systems for HP’s Enterprise, Storage and Servers business unit.
Delphi Automotive Promotes Glen De Vos as CTO
Delphi Automotive named Glen De Vos as CTO and SVP. De Vos succeeds Jeff Owens, who will retire after more than 40 years with Delphi. As CTO, De Vos will be responsible for Delphi's innovation and global technologies, reporting directly to Clark. De Vos was most recently VP, Software & Services, Delphi Electronics & Safety (E&S), located at the company's Silicon Valley Lab in California.

Nordstrom announced that the company's CIO has now announced his plan to retire from the retailer this fall. Dan Little joined Nordstrom in 2002 and became CIO three years ago. He only meant to stay in the role for a few years.
Electrolux Names Acting CIO to Permanent CIO Role
Electrolux has named JP Iversen as its new CIO. Iversen is currently VP of information systems and has been acting CIO since September. Iversen will report directly to president and CEO Jonas Samuelson. Iversen succeeds Marcus Claesson, who is leaving the company to pursue an "external opportunity". Iversen will continue to be based in Stockholm.
Xerox Names Insider as CTO
Xerox has named Steve Hoover as the new CTO. Hoover previously served as CEO of Palo Alto Research Centre (PARC), a Xerox company. In the new role, Hoover will oversee the Xerox global research centres including the PARC, Xerox Research Centre Canada and Xerox Research Centre Europe, as well as Xerox's globally distributed product development and engineering capabilities.

Staples Appoints E-Commerce Exec as CTO
Staples appointed Faisal Masud to the newly created role of CTO. He had previously served as EVP of Global E-Commerce since joining the company in May 2013. Faisal Masud has been named CTO at Staples, a newly created role combining the traditional roles of CIO and CDO. In his new role, Masud will be responsible for both e-commerce and global technology and will report directly to Shira Goodman, Staples’ Chief Executive Officer and President.

Fortinet named Phil Quade as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Prior to Fortinet, Quade was the NSA Director’s Special Assistant for Cyber and Chief of the NSA Cyber Task Force with responsibility for the White House relationship in Cyber. Previously, he served as the COO of the Information Assurance Directorate at the NSA.
