GE Healthcare Appoints CTO for Imaging
Amit Phadnis has been appointed VP, CTO- Imaging, GE Healthcare. In this role, Amit will drive digitization, software and cross modality initiatives across the Imaging business. Amit joins GE from Cisco Systems where, most recently, he was the India Site Leader and SVP of Engineering for the Core Software Group.
Cerner Appoints Infectious Disease Expert as New Board Member as Former Senator Intends to Step Down
Cerner announced that former Senator John C. “Jack” Danforth notified the Board of Directors he does not intend to stand for re-election to the Board. Cerner further announced that Dr. Julie Gerberding has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. Dr. Gerberding, 61, is EVP for strategic communications, global public policy and population health of Merck. Prior to joining Merck, she served as director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and before that served as director of the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion.
Navigant Consulting Hires Key Member of Healthcare Practice Leadership Team and Leader of Navigant Cymetrix
Navigant Consulting announced that James “Jim” Mapes has joined the company as a key member of its healthcare practice leadership team and leader of Navigant Cymetrix. He comes to Navigant from Genpact (formerly GE Capital), where he led the organization’s global healthcare business and served as practice leader for the integrated healthcare and life sciences business. Prior to Genpact, Mapes served as SVP for global BPO growth, payment integrity, and operations at Optum, UnitedHealth Group’s health services platform.
Castlight Health’s Chief Revenue Officer to Depart by the End of Year
Castlight Health announced certain organizational changes after the proposed acquisition of Jiff. Chief Revenue Officer John McCracken will cease being an executive officer of the company but will remain an employee of the company. McCracken will continue to hold the title of Chief Revenue Officer, and will focus his time on the company Anthem and SAP relationships. McCracken will depart the company to pursue other opportunities by the end of the year. McCracken’s other duties and responsibilities as Chief Revenue Officer will be assumed by other members of the company management team.
Tabula Rasa Healthcare Elects Former Kaiser Permanente Exec to its Board
Tabula Rasa Healthcare, a provider of patient-specific, data-driven technology and solutions that enable healthcare organizations to optimize medication regimens to improve patient outcomes, elected Dennis K. Helling, PharmD, ScD (Hon), FCCP, FASHP, FAPhA, to its Board. Dr. Helling is the Executive Director Emeritus, Pharmacy Operations & Therapeutics, Kaiser Permanente Colorado, and Clinical Professor, University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Helling served Kaiser from 1992 – 2013. Currently, he is the VP of The Denver Hospice Board and Chairman of the Working Group on Pharmacy Reimbursement in the Federation of International Pharmacy.
Volpara Health Technologies Appoints CFO
Volpara Health Technologies, provider of volumetric breast imaging products for the early detection of breast cancer in the medical device software industry, appointed Craig Hadfield to the position of CFO and Joint Company Secretary. Hadfield replaces Brian Leighs who has served as a contract CFO at company, since 2009. Hadfield was most recently an Associate Director for Deloitte Wellington and was the Audit Manager for VHT.
OmniComm Systems Restructures Leadership Lineup
eClinical solutions provider OmniComm Systems approved a reorganization of the company’s executive management team. CEO and board member Cornelis F. Wit is transitioning to the role of executive chairman. Wit has been the company’s CEO since June of 2002.
Stephen E. Johnson, the company’s current president and COO, has been named by the company’s board of directors to succeed Wit as CEO. Johnson has served as the company’s president since June 2010, as the company’s COO since April 2008.
CTO and Chair Randall G. Smith will be transitioning to the role of executive vice chairman (executive officer of the company) and executive vice chairman of the board. Smith has served as the company’s CTO and chairman of the board of directors since May 1997.
John Fontenault, the company’s current SVP of operations, has been named as the company’s COO. Fontenault has served as SVP of operations since October 2013.
Keith Howells, the company’s current SVP of development, has been named as CTO. Howells has served as head of product development, initially for TrialMaster and the eClinical Suite and subsequently for TrialOne as well, since January 2011. Prior to joining the company, he was SVP of Development for Medidata Solutions from 2005 to 2010.
Kuno van der Post, SVP of business development, has been promoted to chief commercial officer (CCO).
Ken Light, EVP of professional services, has been promoted to EVP of corporate strategy.
Certive Solutions Names Canadian Politician and Former Member of Parliament as Director
Certive Solutions, the provider of revenue cycle management solutions to the U.S. health care market, appointed The Honorable Ed Holder, P.C., ICD.D to the Board of Directors of the Company. Holder was elected as a Member of Parliament with the Government of Canada in 2008, serving with Prime Minister Stephen Harper. From May 2014 to October 2015, he served in the prestigious role of Minister of State (Science and Technology).
Jack Saltich, a director of the company since 2012, has resigned from the board. MaryAnn Miller, who was appointed to the board in late 2015, has also resigned from the board. Both individuals provided exceptional governance and independence to the board.
Certive subsequently appointed Moe Vela as Senior Corporate Advisor to the company. An attorney by profession, Vela has had the distinction of serving with two White House administrations, first as CFO and Senior Advisor on Latino Affairs to former Vice President Al Gore, and, most recently, as the Director of Administration and a Senior Advisor to Vice President Joe Biden.

Healthwise Appoints Three New Board Members; Names New Chief Client Officer
Healthwise, a non-profit company that develops health content and patient education for the healthcare industry, announced the addition of L. Ebony Boulware, MD, A. James Balkins, and Robert Kyte to its Board of Directors. Boulware is Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine and Vice Dean for Translational Science.
James "Jim" Balkins retired from his executive role at Healthwise in 2016. Prior to joining Healthwise in 2004, Jim served on the Healthwise board of directors for 12 years.
Robert "Bob" Kyte is currently the CEO at Healthwise taking this position in July 2016.
Healthwise announced that Dave Mink will assume the position of Chief Client Officer (CCO). Mink joined Healthwise in 2007 and previously served as Senior Director of Provider Solutions. As CCO, Mink will lead the client-facing teams and be responsible for customer experience and client satisfaction.
CareCloud Welcomes Former Allscripts Exec as Chief Revenue Officer
Cloud-based practice management and EHR software firm CareCloud announced that Greg Shorten, formerly with Allscripts and Validic, has been named chief revenue officer (CRO) to maximize new opportunities within a rapidly growing market for cloud-based health technology. He spent more than 15 years at Allscripts, where he most recently held the role of SVP of sales for the company's professional division. He also worked at Validic as SVP of sales.

Before joining Optima, Jeff led development for IBM's Marketing Cloud.
Christine has more than 20 years’ experience leading both development and services organizations for numerous technology companies including MemberSuite, Innovolt and Siemens. Prior to joining Optima, Christine served as COO at MemberSuite, where she drove a cross-departmental, customer-centric focus throughout the organization.
