Glaxosmithkline Appoints Director with Experience in Energy, Natural Resources and Business InnovationDr. Vivienne Cox, CBE

GlaxoSmithKline appointed Dr. Vivienne Cox, CBE, 56, as a Non-Executive Director. She worked for BP for 28 years, in Britain and Continental Europe, in posts including EVP and chief executive of BP’s gas, power and renewables business and its alternative energy unit. Cox was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to the UK Economy and Sustainability.

Texas Instruments Elects Retired PwC Veteran to the Board of Directors    

Texas Instruments elected Jean Hobby to the Board of Directors of the company. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Hobby, 55, served as strategy officer from 2013 until retirement in 2015. Earlier positions there included U.S. sector lead for the firm's multi-billion dollar Technology, Media and Telecom practice from 2008 to 2013, and CFO from 2005 to 2008. She currently serves on the board of Greatbatch.

Kimberly Clark Appoints CEO of OpenTable as Board Member      

Kimberly-Clark announced that Christa S. Quarles, CEO of OpenTable was elected to its board of directors. Quarles was appointed CEO in November of 2015 after serving as CFO. Prior to joining OpenTable, Quarles served as Chief Business Officer of Nextdoor, and held positions of increasing responsibility with The Walt Disney Company, including SVP, General Manager, Mobile and Social Games.

ADP Appoints Former Deputy Head of Mission at the Office of the Quartet as a New Director     

Automatic Data Processing appointed Sandra S. Wijnberg as a new director of the company. From July 2014 to December 2015, Wijnberg was Deputy Head of Mission, Office of the Quartet Representative, which is charged with implementing the Palestinian economic development agenda of the Quartet (the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia.) Prior to that, she was a Partner and Chief Administrative Officer of Aquiline Holdings, SVP and CFO at Marsh & McLennan Companies, and held various positions at YUM! Brands, PepsiCo, Morgan Stanley and AmEx.

Barclays Appoints Director with Extensive Board-Level Experience across Different Industries    Mary Francis CBE 

Mary Francis CBE has been appointed as a Non-executive Director of Barclays. She has extensive board-level experience and is currently serving on the boards of Swiss Re Group and Ensco. Mary has also had a distinguished and varied executive career including twelve years at HM Treasury, before serving as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, Deputy Private Secretary to the Queen and as Director General of the Association of British Insurers.

Ventas’ Newest Director Comes with Entrepreneurial Success and Expertise in Investment Markets         

S&P 500 real estate investment trust Ventas elected Roxanne M. Martino, CEO of Aurora Investment Management since 1990, to its Board. Over nearly three decades, Martino built the Chicago firm into one of the largest managers in the fund-of-funds industry, managing $14 billion at Aurora's peak.

CSC and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Announce Executive Appointments for New Company       

CSC announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved a plan to merge the company with the Enterprise Services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Meg Whitman, HPE’s president and CEO, will join the new company’s Board of Directors, which will be split equally between nominees of CSC and HPE.

Electronic Arts Appoints CEO of Blackhawk Network to Its Board

Electronic Arts appointed Talbott Roche, 49, to EA’s Board of Directors. Roche is the CEO and President of Blackhawk Network. Prior to her role as CEO, Roche served as the President of Blackhawk, as well as leading Marketing, Product and Business Development for the company..

Twitter Sees Multiple Board Shuffles           

Twitter announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Debra L.  Lee, 60, Chairman and CEO of BET Networks, he parent company for Black Entertainment Television, to serve as a Board member. She served as the COO and President of Black Entertainment Television LLC since 1996.

Additionally, the Board has appointed Marjorie Scardino, 69, as lead independent director, effective following Twitter's 2016 Annual Meeting. She succeeds Peter Currie in the role, whose term will end following the Annual Meeting. Scardino is the former CEO of Pearson PLC.

Legrand Appoints Former Sequana EVP as Director 

French industrial group Legrand approved to appoint for a four-year term, Isabelle Boccon-Gibod, as an independent Director. Ms. Isabelle Boccon-Gibod served as EVP at Sequana S.A. until 2013 and Senior Advisor since June 2006. Boccon-Gibod served as EVP of Special Projects at Arjowiggins at Sequana S.A. She started her professional career with the International Paper Group in 1991.

TomTom Co-Founder Joins Iliad Board        

Iliad, the parent company of Free, the inventor of the Freebox, has elected Corinne Vigreux as an independent board member. Corinne Vigreux is a co-founder of TomTom and managing director of its consumer business. She was also present at the creation of former European PDA powerhouse Psion.

Fannie Mae Appoints Founder and Managing Member of The Catalyst Group Renee L. Glover to Board   

Fannie Mae elects Renee L. Glover, 66, to Board of Directors. Glover is the Founder and Managing Member of The Catalyst Group. Ms. Glover previously served as president and CEO of the Atlanta Housing Authority and its affiliates.

AMP Appoints its Board Member and Former Investment Banker Catherine Brenner as New Chairwoman

Wealth management and insurance giant AMP announced that Catherine Brenner has been elected Chairman of AMP Limited Board. Brenner joined the AMP Limited Board in 2010 and was until recently the Chairman of AMP Life and NMLA. She holds directorships with Boral and Coca-Cola Amatil and was formerly a senior investment banker and corporate lawyer.

Hasbro Adds Couple of Female Directors     

Toy and board game company Hasbro announced that Hope Cochran, former CFO of King Digital, and Mary Beth West, EVP, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer for J.C.  Penney Company, have been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Cochran joined King Digital in 2013 as CFO. Prior, she served as CFO of Spring subsidiary Clearwire.

West joined J.C.  Penney as Chief Customer and Marketing Officer in 2015.  She served as the Chief Category & Marketing Officer and EVP at Mondelez Global until then.

Lincoln Financial Group Elects Retired GSK Exec to Serve on BoardDeirdre P. Connelly

Lincoln Financial Group announced that Deirdre P. Connelly has been elected to serve on its Board of Directors. Connelly served from February 2009 until her retirement in February 2015 as president of North American Pharmaceuticals at GlaxoSmithKline.

RSA Insurance Group Appoints Director with Deep Understanding of Insurance Sector and Financial Services Expertise        

RSA Insurance Group appointed Isabel Hudson as a Non-Executive Board Director. Hudson has significant experience in general insurance, both as an executive and non-executive director, along with a wealth of relevant board experience. Isabel also brings wide ranging commercial, corporate finance and business development experience from the UK and internationally. Hudson is currently Chairman of the National House Building Council (NHBC).

FactSet Research Elects Symantec CIO as New Board Member      

FactSet Research Systems elected Sheila B. Jordan to board. Jordan currently serves as SVP, CIO at Symantec. Jordan had previously worked as SVP of Communication and Collaboration IT at Cisco.

FMC Elects Director with Background in Process Technology, Safety, Sustainability and Environmental Management           

FMC Corporation has elected Margareth vrum as a director of the company.  vrum is EVP of Technology, Projects & Drilling for Statoil Group, an international energy company based in Stavanger, Norway.  She is responsible for technology research, procurement, projects and drilling.

Genpact Appoints Retired Deloitte Vice-Chair to its Board   

Genpact appointed Carol Lindstrom, formerly of Deloitte, to its Board of Directors. Lindstrom recently retired as vice chairman of Deloitte, where she led strategic relationship management, and was also president of the Deloitte Foundation. She was a member of the Deloitte & Touche Board of Directors for six years and served on the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT) Global Board of Directors for eight years.
