Noteworthy Healthcare IT Leadership Moves: McKesson, Cerner, Athenahealth & Others

Cerner Appoints SVP, Cerner Revenue Cycle Management and President of Cerner RevWorks       

Cerner announced that Jeff Hurst will join the company as SVP, Cerner Revenue Cycle Management and president of Cerner RevWorks. Hurst is currently the SVP of finance at Florida Hospital. Jeff has worked at Florida Hospital for more than 19 years and has previously served as SVP of fiscal services, and VP of revenue management. Prior to joining Florida Hospital, Jeff spent 10 years serving in the United States Air Force.

Athenahealth Announces Board and Executive Changes

athenahealth appointed Tom Szkutak, former Amazon.com CFO, to its Board of Directors. Szkutak served as SVP and CFO at Amazon.com from 2002 to 2015. Prior to Amazon, Szkutak spent 20 years with General Electric.

Athenahealth announced that EVP and COO Ed Park will leave his post at the end of 2016, when he is expected to be elected to the company's board. Upon Park's transition, Kyle Armbrester, SVP and chief product officer, will take over as head of direction and delivery of core services. The role of COO is being eliminated, and the company will shift other internal leadership responsibilities to account for the transition.

FireEye’s EVP and General Counsel Joins Board of Vocera Communications          

Alexa KingVocera Communications announced that Alexa King, EVP and general counsel at FireEye, joined the company’s board. Since 2012, King has led the legal team at FireEye. Before FireEye, she was general counsel at Aruba Networks. Her early career included working at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro and Fenwick & West. 

The role that King is stepping into on the Vocera Board has opened up as Brian Ascher, a partner at the venture capital firm Venrock (Palo Alto, Calif.), rotates out of the Board position he has held since 2002.

Castlight Health Announces Board and Management Appointments

Enterprise healthcare technology firm Castlight Health appointed Michael L. Eberhard to the board. Eberhard has been the President of Global Distribution at Concur Technologies since January 2015. He joined Concur in 2003, and served on various roles.

Castlight Health also appointed John C. Doyle as President, Siobhan Nolan Mangini as CFO and Treasurer, and Priya Jain as Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of the Company. John C. Doyle, 48, previously served as CFO, VP and Treasurer since November 2012 and has served as COO since November 2015.

Achaogen Siobhan Nolan Mangini, 35, most recently served as VP, Finance & Business Operations. She joined the company in February 2012. Prior to joining Castlight she worked at Bain & Company.

Priya Jain, C.P.A., 36, joined the Company in March 2016 as VP, Corporate Controller. Most recently, Jain was Corporate Controller at AlienVault, a cybersecurity company, from March 2015 to February 2016, where she led all accounting, reporting, tax, subsidy operations, and treasury activities.

Connecture Announces Resignation of Robert Douglas Schneider as President and Chief Product Officer, Effective July 29, 2016    

Robert Douglas Schneider, President and Chief Product Officer of Connecture, a company solely focused on delivering integrated Web-based sales, service and process automation solutions to the health insurance industry, will be resigning from Connecture for personal reasons. Schneider's Chief Product Officer responsibilities and duties will be transitioned in an orderly fashion to the current Connecture leadership team if and until a new Chief Product Officer is named.

OptimizeRx Appoints SVP of Product and Strategy

OptimizeRx, the provider of patient financial support services in the eRx workflow, appointed Brian J. Dillon to the new position of SVP of Product and Strategy. Prior to joining OptimizeRx, Dillon provided consulting services focused on the HiTECH (Health Information Technology) and pharmaceutical manufacturers services sector. Earlier in his career, he served as partner at AccelaPartners.

HTG Molecular Diagnostics Appoints Leader for North American Capital Sales     

HTG Molecular Diagnostics appointed Suzanne Hill as VP of North American Capital Sales. Prior to joining HTG, Hill served as Director of Sales at Silicon Biosystems in San Diego. Earlier in her career, she held a number of commercial positions of increasing responsibility at Illumina.

Alcidion Group Named Co-Founder of Resapp Health to Board      

Alcidion Group, a global leader in Clinical Informatics, appointed Brian Leedman to the board of the company. Leedman is the co-founder of Resapp Health where he currently serves in the role of Executive Director and VP, Corporate Affairs. Leedman is a marketing and investor relations professional with over 10 years' experience in the biotechnology/healthcare industry.

Jayex Healthcare Announces Resignation of Directors         

Jayex Healthcare, healthcare self-service solutions and patient flow management company, announced that John Allinson has tendered his resignation as Director of the company. Allinson has been part of the Jayex Group since 2006 in both executive and non-executive roles during this time.

Shane Tanner has tendered his resignation as director of the company. Tanner has served on the JHL Board since September 2015 and has overseen the company’s Initial Public Offering on the ASX together with the acquisition of Appointuit Pty Ltd. and Jayex Technology UK.

Certive Solutions Appoints United Healthcare Exec as VP of Sales  

Certive Solutions appointed Michael Groeger as VP of Sales. With over 30 years of healthcare distribution experience, Groeger comes to Certive from United Healthcare having spent the last eight years as the National Director of Private Equity Distribution of Commercial Products.

CIOX Health Appoints Couple of New Board Members       

Health information management company CIOX Health announced appointment of Jeremy Delinsky and Jeff Hammerbacher to its board of directors. Delinsky is CTO of Wayfair and Hammerbacher is the founder and chief scientist at Cloudera and an assistant professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Cognosante Appoints VP of Capture from NCI

Cognosante, provider of consulting, technology, and BPO services to healthcare organizations in the United States, appointed Sean Bauer as VP of Capture. In this role, Sean will apply 20 years of executive management and leadership experience and an extensive track record designing innovative business solutions to enhancing the company's business acquisition process and client portfolio. Prior to joining Cognosante, Sean served as VP of Capture Management at NCI.

Healthways’ CEO Donato Tramuto to Join Sharecare Board

Donato Tramuto, Healthways’ CEO, will join the Sharecare board of directors to ensure continuity in customer support and successful growth for the Population Health business.

Millennium Health Appoints CFO and Chief Administrative Officer

Personalized medicine & health solutions Millennium Health named Michael Keane as CFO. Most recently, Keane was EVP and CFO of Genomatica.

The company also appointed Thomas W. Arnst as Chief Administrative Officer. Most recently, Arnst was EVP, chief administrative officer, general counsel, head of global HR and corporate secretary at Expert Global Solutions until its sale to Alorica in June 2016.
